What are some potential obstacles to accurately reading the nonverbal messages of other people?

What is meant by the following: “Most nonverbal communication is learned on the subconscious level”?

Consultant

Case assignment scenario: You are a consultant. You have been chosen to present a paper on professional communication covering a company of your choice.

Acting in this consultant capacity, you are to write a detailed analysis of the professional communication shortcomings and strong points in the company you have chosen, then formulate a plan outlining the steps you recommend (like training or education) to improve in areas you identify.

In addition to the 5-8 page paper, prepare a bulleted outline of the points you would address in the presentation add your bulleted outline at the end of the paper as an Appendix (this goes after your reference section).

Areas to address should include topics covered in the first 4 modules of the course and must relate to professional communication.

Module 4 Case Assignment

The Case Assignment for this course will be a 5-8 page essay (excluding cover page and references) on the organization you selected in module 2. You will write a proposal on how you plan to implement education and training within the organization to address the opportunities and challenges associated with managing across cultures. The emphasis for the Case Assignment is on the country of origin for the assignment, so the paper is written from that foreign country’s perspective. For ex. If the company is BMW – since BMW is a German based company, you will write the proposal as if you are physically working in Germany creating a training proposal for employees who are German based employees, employees from the U.S and other countries who are working in Germany at BMW. You will add cultural elements from the U.S. portion of the organization in your Week 8 Signature Assignment.

Address the concepts learned and student-learning outcomes in modules 1 – 4 (see table below). In your paper add a brief executive summary (no more than 1 page), which will include your training plan, associated costs, and human resources required. In the body of the paper, address the concepts learned and explain if they are applicable or not in the organization.

At the end of your paper, write a couple of paragraphs about what you learned about the organization as it pertained to the culture in the host country, any preconceived notions prior to research about the organization in the host country, and your current perceptions about the organization.
