In Design Newsletter

Design a newsletter for an organization of your choice. Create a four-page newsletter for a topic/organization that interests you. It could be for a school club, sports team, church, local business, or even a hobby you have such as hiking, cooking, or photography etc. The possibilities are endless. There is a list of items that may be included in your publication on page 220 of your textbook “anatomy of a publication.” Give careful consideration to the design of the piece and use of all the InDesign skills you have learned this semester. Include short articles, bulleted lists etc. Write all the articles for the newsletter. Do not use placeholder text — it looks ugly. Write the articles for your newsletter, you are welcome to do so.

You are required to use:

  • Nameplate
  • A standing head
  • A Grid
  • Master Page Items
  • Paragraph Styles
  • Character Styles
  • Drop Caps
  • Pull Quotes

Your newsletter must be saved and packaged.

MIT Medai Lab – Future Sketch – Statemento of Purpose

We would love to know one important thing you imagine contributing to the world upon graduating with a masters of architecture degree from MIT. As you share your thoughts with us, also know that, we are less interested in your qualifications, and more interested in your trajectory, your purpose, and your reason for dedicating yourself to the pursuit of architecture. Why is now the right time for you to be in school? What do you imagine contributing to our community at MIT? Requirements, Risk, and Stakeholder Communication

Discuss the importance of these components (Requirements Gathering, Stakeholder Communication, and Risk) to the ultimate success of a systems implementation. Address some of the common pitfalls which are associated with these topics. Finally, list and analyze methods which one could use to ensure that a systems implementation can be successfully implemented.

Design and print a 3D object that communicates your personal brand. Make a 3D design for a business card, name plate, or key chain to use as a marketing product.

3D Brand Object Activity for IS 2200

Task: Design and print a 3D object that communicates your personal brand.

Learning objective: The student will gain direct, hands-on understanding of the process of designing and building using digital 3D technologies.

3D Printing
Digital three-dimensional (3D) technology has become practical for businesses and society due to advances in computers and robotics. We see those new innovations in virtual meetings, gaming, supply chain management, marketing, surgery, and other areas using interaction via virtual reality (ie. interacting entirely in digital spaces), augmented reality (i.e., overlaying digital onto physical objects and spaces), and reality (i.e., making digital objects into physical forms). New possibilities in all areas are emerging with these new tools. Companies make these tools and need employees who
understand them. Investors must assess the potential. Business people need to evaluate, purchase, and deploy them into operations, products and services. For all these reasons, it is time for us to learn about digital 3D technology to prepare you. For more about why to learn 3D now, watch this short video:

You are learning both the design and printing in this activity. If you get excited, know that KSU has 3D labs and printers that can handle even the most demanding jobs and
materials. See in the 3D lab located in Burruss 465 for more information.

For online sections you may find more 3D printing information at this

.

This assignment takes approximately an hour up before submitting to print. Be sure to give yourself enough time to complete the assignment prior to the due date and time.

Requirements
1. Make a 3D design for a business card, name plate, or key chain to use as a marketing product.

2. Design must include at least two letters representing your initials.

3. Maximum size: 100mm x 50mm x 15mm (4 inches wide x 2 inches long x ½ inch high).

4. It must have a flat side on the bottom so that it will easily stick to the printer bed.

5. Slice the design to prepare it for printing and send it to a 3D printer.

6. Complete parts 1 and 2.

Middle School – Wellness

Define the overall mission of the school, conduct a literature review of a topic related to the mission. Develop a thesis of your project and document the synthesis of your position in a research paper.

The research paper is to be 5 pages double spaced report(each page has 250 word minimum). Illustrations may be included, but they are outside the 5 page minimum. Support your research with scholarly peer reviewed professional articles. Use APA format for journal citations and include a bibliography of at least 3 sources at the end of the paper. My main school design idea is centered around student wellness. For students to have easy access to meals and healthy snacks while at school and why this is so important. As well as designing an outdoor space, such as an interior courtyard for students to be able to go outdoors. My group also discussed school safety, different learning styles, and student engagement/inclusivity in the school.
