A current trend may be a theory (e.g., situated learning theory, brain-based learning, social justice), policy or legislation (e.g., Race to the Top, RISE teacher evaluation system), national or international movements (e.g., Common Core State Standards, cosmopolitanism).

Analyzing trends/studying these patterns, is common in the financial sector, but has also been used in other fields, including health and education. Trend analysis often using statistical methods. However, for this class, you will use a qualitative approach to analysis.

Identify the most relevant literature discussing the trend, with an emphasis on empirical, theoretical, and policy literature.
Identify and discuss patterns in the trend’s development and evolution.
Construct a timeline of the trend’s development and evolution.
