Identify the developmental impact of each issue. How is the issue impacting the student in the classroom? What does the teacher see that is interfering with learning?

12 part slideshow revision

Effective teaching begins with understanding your students: how they learn, their background and issues that they might face. In the course, TCR 300 Meet Your Students, you were introduced to twenty-four students who are representative of the students in Texas. Several of these students have significant academic issues and/or emotional issues that may impact their performance. This performance-based assessment requires you to identify and research the societal or cultural issues that are faced by four of these students and how they impact their achievement.

Using PowerPoint or Google Slides, you are to create a presentation appropriate for use with other educators or parents. In this presentation you are to do the following:

  • Identify each student and the issue he or she is facing. You must use the four student profiles provided below. DO NOT copy and paste the descriptions provided. Rather, you should explain what you feel are the core issues each face after reading the description.
  • Identify the developmental impact of each issue. How is the issue impacting the student in the classroom? What does the teacher see that is interfering with learning? You will need to include the research that is directly related to the issues and aligned to the developmental goals for the students. For example, you might include a statement such as “According to Dr. I. M. Expert, cyber-bullying is detrimental to a student’s development because it makes students feel unsafe.”
  • Research and provide resources that are directly related to the issue and are aligned to the developmental goals for students. These are resources a parent or teacher could use to learn more about the issue and how to address the impact of the issue. These are resources that may be available in your community, such as food banks, language lessons for parents, etc. You may also choose to include resources that are available from federal, state, and local governments. These are NOT the resources used in your research.

You will suggest supports teachers can use in the classroom to mitigate the impacts of the issue.

Your presentation should be at least 11 slides long. You are expected to have an introductory slide, two slides per student,a closing slide, and a resource/bibliography page for the sources you use in the project.

The presentation must be your original work, and professional in its use of images, language and formatting. Use of another’s work will earn an automatic zero and may be grounds for dismissal from the program.

Develop plans for innovative practices that help meet the needs of diverse learners. Explain why the proposed technology is expedient, appropriate, and relevant to the specific educational setting.

Action Plan for Technology Innovation

This paper has two four-page sections. Instructions also attached in PDF format.

Action plan (4-5 pages) proposing implementation of appropriate and relevant technology, evaluating that technology in terms of meeting diverse needs of students, and analyzing the implications of initiating this change.

This assessment will apply the theoretical foundations and best practices for educational innovation with technology. In the assessment, address how to bring about change within a school and how to implement specific technologies in an action plan.

Demonstration of Proficiency
By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and assessment criteria:

Competency: Develop plans for innovative practices that help meet the needs of diverse learners.
Explain why the proposed technology is expedient, appropriate, and relevant to the specific educational setting.
Evaluate how the proposed technology is most appropriate for meeting the diverse needs of students.
Analyze the implications of initiating the proposed technology innovation through an action plan.
Present a rationale for action plan decisions, including the choice of who to involve and how to involve them, the timeline for implementation steps, and required resources.

Instructions

Part 1: Evaluation and Analysis
Submit a 4–5-page paper in which you:

Describe briefly the technology you are proposing to implement through your action plan.
Provide a rationale for why this technology is expedient, appropriate, and relevant to your school.
Base this determination on collaborations with stakeholders at the school or on publicly accessible data through the school or district Web site or community publications.
Evaluate how this technology is most appropriate for meeting the diverse needs of students, including cultural background, developmental and readiness levels, language, speed of learning, access to technology, and so on. For example, how might the appropriateness of the technology be affected if students only have access to technology via smart phones rather than having access to laptops or iPads?
Use peer-reviewed literature to support your evaluation.
Analyze the implications of initiating this change through your action plan. Address the potential impact on students, teachers, and school-wide programs.
Your analysis should align with theories of institutional change, systems theory, and/or an educational change model.
Your analysis should be supported by the professional literature and may reflect professional feedback.

Part 2: Action Plan Proposal
Design an action plan that includes the following components:

A brief analysis of the change you are planning to implement.
A description of the actions that need to be taken to implement the plan, including a rationale for why these actions need to happen.
Be sure to indicate if any steps need to happen concurrently or in a certain sequence.
A list of the individuals who are responsible for each specific action.
Consider who has the time and is appropriately situated to take on these responsibilities, but also consider who is most capable of keeping the objective of meeting the needs of diverse learners at the forefront of the planning and implementation.
If it is not clear why an individual is assigned to a certain task, be sure to include an explanation.
A list of who should be consulted or informed about the project and its findings.
In referring to individuals, do not use names, but refer to the position they hold in relation to the plan, such as PTA Chair, ESL Lead Teacher, et cetera.
A rationale justifying why giving awareness to these individuals is relevant and important to the goals of your project.
Note: Be sure to include parents and community members.
A description of who will monitor the progress, document the effects of implementation, and gather any data that is acquired.
A timeline of the actions to be taken and the monitoring steps.
A list of resources needed to carry out the action plan and a rationale for their inclusion.
Consider the resources that may be needed within your school and district as well as resources that may be needed from the community. You will also want to think about resources for training and supporting teachers in the classroom.
Submit both parts, the paper and your action plan proposal, for assessment. Refer to the scoring guide to ensure that you meet the grading criteria for this assignment.

Critically analyze whether technology-aided learning in Higher education has the potential to develop an inclusive learning environment.

DISCUSSION ESSAY

Overarching research question:
Critically analyze whether technology-aided learning in Higher education has the potential to develop an inclusive learning environment.

Research question 1.1
Identify the factors necessary for creating an inclusive learning environment in higher education.

Research question 1.2
To analyze whether a technology-aided learning environment can enhance learners’ attainment.

In addition to the proposed research questions, the literature review will also explore the impact of technology-driven learning on;
• The challenges of creating an inclusive learning environment through technology.

State the data collection procedure(s) you developed for this study. Provide the questions or form you will use to gather data using your technique. Describe specifically how, when, and where the data will be collected.

Assignment 4: Measurement // Data Collection Methods

**List your research topic, research type (QT or QL), research purpose, and research question at the top of your paper.**

Answer the following questions. Do not use first person language (e.g., I, me, my, our, we, etc.) in your answers.

Type your responses and number them according to the numbering below. Include a reference page (following APA format) for all sources used, keeping in mind that all sources in the reference list should be cited in the paper and all citations in your paper should be included in the reference list.

Part 1: Measurement

As part of your research proposal in this course, you will need to develop measurement procedures for each variable/research question. The purpose of this assignment is for you to practice developing measurement/data collection procedures for your study.

FOR STUDENTS CONDUCTING A QUANTITATIVE STUDY:

  1. State your research question. Then, list all of the variables in your study (these should be clear in your RQ).
  2. For each variable you listed, present the measurement procedure(s) you will use in your study. For any variable that is not demographic/categorical in nature (e.g., gender, control vs. treatment group membership, etc.), you must locate an existing measuring instrument (scale) that is an appropriate measure of the variable in your study and provide the name of this instrument. Be sure to include an appropriate citation for each measurement instrument you use. Provide actual copies of instruments (surveys, questionnaires, scales, etc.) that you will be using.  In the case that the full instrument is not published (or requires payment to obtain), simply state that and describe the instrument and include sample questions from the instrument (be sure to include a citation for this).

FOR STUDENTS CONDUCTING A QUALITATIVE STUDY:

  1. State the data collection procedure(s) you developed for this study. Your data collection procedures may be interviews, focus groups, observations, etc.
  2. Provide the questions or form you will use to gather data using your technique. For example, if you are going to conduct interviews, provide the list of questions you will ask. If you are going to do observations, turn in a detailed outline of how you plan to complete the observations and include the table, form, or rubric used to take observation notes if applicable.

Part 2: Data Collection Methods and Analysis

Now your task is to describe how you plan to collect your data in enough detail so that your study could be replicated. The key to doing well on this part of the assignment is to include enough detail in your descriptions so that someone else could collect your data.

  1. Describe specifically how, when, and where the data will be collected. Be as detailed and precise as possible—the details and description of the data collection process should provide enough information that the study could be replicated. For example, you may discuss:

How will the survey (if applicable) be administered? On paper? Online? Telephone? Face-to-face?

How will interviews (if applicable) be scheduled? When and where will they occur?

When will data be collected? At the beginning or end of an intervention (e.g., pre-test/post-test format)?

Where will the data be collected? At a meeting? In a classroom? Somewhere else?

Your answer to this question needs to be detailed enough that someone can replicate your process. Think about what it will be like to be a participant in your study—what will their experience be? Be sure to cover all details (but do not write from their perspective—maintain academic voice/writing style).

For example, for QL studies don’t simply say “Interviews will be conducted with each participant.” Tell the reader everything he/she needs to know about those interviews–How do you schedule them? How do participants give informed consent? Where will the interviews happen–a coffee shop? the library? How long will they last? Similarly, don’t say “Participants will take a survey.” How will they take it? When and where? It is at their leisure, or during a specified time?

For QT studies, don’t simply say “Participants will take a survey.” How will they take it? When and where? It is at their leisure, or during a specified time? When does access to the survey cease? If you are giving a pre-and post-test, how long before and after the treatment phase are participants tested?

  • What is another reason why people take an opposing position to yours? Here you present another reason that people tend to give who take the position opposite yours.
  • Evaluate…is their more harm than good statement? Here you negatively evaluate the opposing view on the issue from yours.

3.Your conclusions (including “WHY”) and reactions in general (one to two paragraphs). An example could start, as follows… “Therefore, I strongly believe that… ” statement: You end your critique/ essay with a direct statement of your position on the topic, based on your negative evaluation of the people who take the opposite position from yours.

Parent Newsletter Article

As parents, we want our children to have the best possible start in life. Reading is a skill that opens doors to a world of possibilities, and it’s one of the most important skills your child will ever learn. But reading is more than just a practical skill – it’s a gateway to a whole world of knowledge, imagination, and empathy.
Here are some tips to help your child become a confident and enthusiastic reader. Reading aloud to your child is one of the best things you can do to encourage a love of reading.
Even after your child has learned to read independently, continue to read aloud together. This helps develop vocabulary, comprehension, and critical thinking skills and provides an opportunity for bonding and sharing quality time. Make reading an enjoyable experience by incorporating it into your child’s daily routine.
Encourage your child to choose books they’re interested in, and let them read at their own pace. Create a cozy reading nook, provide comfortable seating, and ensure good lighting. Consider setting up a reading challenge or book club to make it more engaging. Children learn by example, so if you want your child to be a reader, model that behavior. Make time for reading, and let your child see you enjoy books.

Discuss books with your child and recommend ones you’ve enjoyed. It’s also a good idea to limit screen time and encourage other activities that promote reading, like visiting the library or attending author events. Reading does not have to be a solitary activity. Encourage your child to read menus, signs, and labels when you’re out and about. Choose books that align with your child’s interests, such as a cookbook or craft book (Sheila, 2023). Integrate reading into other subjects, like math or science, by reading related books or articles.
