Identify a minimum of two Touro GSE Candidate Learning Outcomes (CLOs) that you view as your strongest attributes and discuss why. Identify the specific outcomes and corresponding elements by name.

Looking Backwards: Reflective Practice

Examine your prior experiences working with youth and children and their impact on your professional practice (in your classroom(s) or other educational setting(s)). Consider the grade/functional levels and the content/disciplines for which you designed and implemented instruction. Consider the learning outcomes that resulted, the challenges
you faced, and your core beliefs about teaching and learning. Afterwards, address the following questions:

Name and describe impacts you have had on P12 students’ learning.

Discuss ways in which you have used feedback from your instructors or supervisors to improve your practice.

Identify a minimum of two
Touro GSE Candidate Learning Outcomes (CLOs) that you view as your strongest attributes and discuss why. Identify the specific outcomes and corresponding elements by name.
Discuss any areas of concern you might have regarding the development of your ability to meet the needs of diverse learners and explain why.

Discuss ways that cultural, language and environmental differences of a student might put a student at risk for being labelled as a student with a disability. What are three things that you as a teacher could prevent this from happening.

Responding to different scenarios

Respond to each of the scenarios below. The total word count is 2000 words (+/- 10%) This includes all text (headings, in-text citations, captions and direct quotes). It excludes the Reference List.

Answer each of the four questions below: Word count for each question is indicated below. This includes all text (headings, in-text citations, captions and direct quotes). It excludes the Reference List. (Each scenario should have a minimum of 3 references. make sure to number each scenario being answered).

1. In a classroom with 20 students, you have 3 students with significant focus and impulsivity challenges, one who is diagnosed with high functioning Autism, and another who has just this year arrived in Australia with limited English skills. You have an educational assistant in the classroom for 3 hours of each day. Describe at least 3 classroom supports/strategies which you would utilize in order to inclusively support all 20 of the students. You will choose the level of the classroom (primary, upper primary or secondary) and a particular subject area to address such as maths or literacy. Be specific, and make sure your strategies are supported by research (how can you develop some strategies so that all the kids can move ahead together significantly. find a way to incorporate teachers aid) (800 words; 16 marks)

2. During this semester, we discussed Universal Design for Learning and Differentiated Instruction. Discuss the similarities and the differences in the two concepts. Provide at least 2 examples of each, including when each method would be appropriate (400 words; 8 marks)

3. Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) have similar tiered structures, but used for different types of student support. Describe the structure and purpose of each system, including the theoretical framework of the two systems (compare and contrast. link discussion to theoritical frameworks e.g behavioural, humanistic, bioecological, sociocultural etc)(400 words; 8 marks)

4. Discuss ways that cultural, language and environmental differences of a student might put a student at risk for being labelled as a student with a disability. What are three things that you as a teacher could prevent this from happening. Justify your answer. (400 words; 8 marks) Marking Criteria – see rubric for details

How would you provide opportunities to engage in a meaningful conversation with children? Would you use dramatic play? How will you assess if the conversation is truly meaningful?

Module J Discussion – Chapter 12 – Meaningful Conversations with Children

Teachers talk to children constantly, but rarely do we take the time to engage in meaningful conversations with children.
How would you provide opportunities to engage in a meaningful conversation with children? Not just talking TO children, but talking WITH them.
Create an activity with the goal of engaging children in a meaningful conversation. Plan for a small group, or a one-on-one conversation. Would you use dramatic play? Children’s literature or poetry? Finger-plays or songs? Outside play? How will you assess if the conversation is truly meaningful?
If you are currently teaching, try to implement the strategy in your classroom and reflect on the conversation. If you are not currently teaching, use your imagination.

Explore major publications such as Approach or its USAF equivalent and locate articles about mishaps or near mishaps involving hypoxia. Locate an article exploring incidents of hypoxia on each of the aircraft and provide a brief summary.

Hypoxia, physiology in pilots

This module week you have concentrated on hypoxia. All military aviators/pilots have dedicated training on how to recognize its symptoms in themselves and those they are flying with, yet mishaps and near misses still happen. For this module week’s interactive classroom we are going to discuss three separate aircraft (F/A-18, F-22, & T-45).
Explore major publications such as Approach (Links to an external site.) or its USAF (Links to an external site.) equivalent and locate articles about mishaps or near mishaps involving hypoxia. Locate an article exploring incidents of hypoxia on each of the aircraft (F/A-18, F-22, & T-45) and provide a brief summary.

Based on what you have read and have learned in this module, surmise what was the most likely cause of the mishap/incident in question. Provide sound evidence for your conclusion by supporting it with information from the article and your new found knowledge of altitude physiology.

Altitude Mishap -Physiology

In this case analysis, you will complete a more in-depth analysis of one of the articles you identified in this week’s module readings, Activity 3.1. Based on what you have read and have learned in this module, surmise what was the most likely cause of the mishap/incident in question. Provide sound evidence for your conclusion by supporting it with information from the article (or related articles) and your new found knowledge of altitude physiology.
Your analysis should include the following sections:
Summary of the case
Problem Statement – What is the problem?
Significance of the Problem – Why this is a problem?
Alternative Actions (2) – How could it have been avoided?
Recommendation

What is the problem? Who is affected/impacted? Where does the problem reside? What is the context of this problem? Why do you perceive this to be a persistent problem? Are there data to support your perception?

Student-Centered Classroom

Augusta University’s Doctor of Education in Educational Innovation program is a member of the Carnegie
Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED). Part of CPED’s mission is to investigate, study, and consider
solutions for problems of practice. CPED defines a problem of practice as: “a persistent, contextualized, and
specific issue embedded in the work of a professional practitioner, the addressing of which has the potential to
result in improved understanding, experience, and outcomes.”
Write a paper 4-5 page paper (no more and no less), where you select an educational problem of practice to
examine. Follow this outline and make sure to respond to the questions. Use this organizational framework for
your paper. Also, you should follow APA 7thEdition Style Guidelines in your paper with a cover page,
appropriate in-text citation, and a reference page.
Outline for Paper
Introduction

• What is the problem?
• Who is affected/impacted?
• Where does the problem reside? What is the context of this problem?
• Why do you perceive this to be a persistent problem?
• Are there data to support your perception?
• What research or literature supports this as a problem? Cite no more than two studies.
Investigation of the Problem
• What might you do to understand the problem?
• How might you test possible interventions or solutions for the problem?
• What research methodologies might you use?
• How might a collaborative research team approach/investigate this problem?
Conclusion
• A brief summary of what you have presented in your paper
