Directions:
SCOPE: The purpose of the Annotated Bibliography is to summarize what you have learned from exploring literature related to your Research Proposal. Hence, this section of the project will convey to readers your knowledge of the published material that pertains to the issue you are studying.
More importantly, through the process of locating and reading the academic articles related to your project and paying attention to how other scholars frame research questions and methods of data collection and analysis, you will get new ideas for your own research proposal and the kinds of data you will want to collect and analyze for your own study.
Begin your annotated bibliography with a one-paragraph introduction. This introduction should mention you are the issue you are researching, and then briefly identify the themes that are relevant to completing the paper. Next discuss each theme in its own sub-section (with a heading), and finally a conclusion summing up all your themes. This annotated bibliography should use the APA or MLA style, and should be no more than 3-4 pages in length.
You must use at least 10 sources. At least 5 of your sources should be academic sources (e.g. Peer-Reviewed Journal Articles, Books). It is advised that you refrain from using blogs, and websites, as there is no way to verify the authenticity of these sources.
For this discussion will complete the following in a one-page summary:
Describe the complementary treatment.
What is it?
What are its proposed benefits?
Are there any risks?
Describe access to the treatment – where do you find it, what are its costs?
Is there evidence for your treatment? Expert opinion? If so, what is it?
Based on your findings would you recommend this treatment? If yes, do you have population-specific recommendations?
