Include a title page and reference page. Length requirements do not include the title page, and the reference page.
Follow APA style format and citation guidelines, including Times New Roman 12 point font and double spacing.

What criteria did you use to determine the short-term, intermediate-term, and long-term outcomes? How will your short-term program outcomes help you achieve your long-term program outcomes?

4-1 Module Four Project

Overview
So far in this course, you have identified a healthcare problem (ATTACHED- ihp 670 1-2 project management plans) and completed your needs assessment for this program( ATTACHED-ihp 670 3-1 powerpoint and ihp 670- 3-1 speaker notes) . Also, you explored various program planning models and compared them to evaluate their strengths and limitations. Now, you are ready to design your program model.

Based on the findings from your program planning models’ analysis, you decided to use the logic model in designing your program. You will complete the logic model diagram over a few weeks and submit it with your final presentation to your senior management. This model will help them visualize your plan well before the program implementation. This assignment will help you and senior management know the resources you need to implement this program, the activities that will help you achieve the program goals, and the outcomes you want to set for the program. This is one of the essential steps before program implementation; it helps identify implementation challenges related to resources, activity planning, and outcomes evaluation.

In this assignment, you will focus on certain elements of the logic model: a list of inputs or resources, activities or work products, and outcomes. You will explore only three components of the logic model here, but you will be required to complete your work on the remaining components over the next few weeks. These sections are essential to complete before program implementation; this process will help you plan and design your program activities well before the implementation phase begins. In Module Six, you will add the remaining components of the logic model diagram for your program.

In future modules, you will learn about the budgeting process and financial decision making in program planning, which will help you complete the remaining part of the logic model. You will submit the completed logic model for your program as part of your course project submission.

This activity will help you understand three key components of program planning using the logic model, and it will help you complete one of the required support documents for your course project.

Prompt
Complete the provided Logic Model Outline Template(ATTACHED-
ihp 670 logic model outline template), and write a brief reflection on these sections, explaining your reasoning behind your decisions for each of these sections.

Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:

Program Title and Program Goal: Describe the program title and the overarching program goal. Consider the following question to guide your response:
How does the program goal address the identified problem?

Inputs or Resources: Determine the key program inputs or resources using the Logic Model Outline Template to help you organize these inputs or resources. Consider the following questions to guide your response:
How would you determine the inputs or resources needed for your program?
What challenges do you see in getting all or some of these inputs or resources?

Activities or Work Products: Determine the key activities or work products needed to make the program effective. Use the Logic Model Outline Template to help you organize these key activities or work products. Consider the following questions to guide your response:
Why are the identified activities or work products essential for the success of the program?
Which two activities do you think are most critical for the program and why?

Short-Term, Intermediate, and Long-Term Outcomes: Describe the program’s short-term, intermediate, and long-term outcomes. The outcomes must be measurable, with an estimated timeframe (described in days, months, or years), and have a specific success target. Consider the following questions to guide your response:
What criteria did you use to determine the short-term, intermediate-term, and long-term outcomes?
How will your short-term program outcomes help you achieve your long-term program outcomes?

Note that all the claims in your deliverable should be evidence based. Your citations should be from your independent search for evidence (not from the scenario, textbook, or module resources) of credible sources and be current within the last five years. You are required to cite a minimum of two sources, at least one of which should be separate from your own research. Refer to the Shapiro Library Guide: Nursing—Graduate located in the Start Here section of the course for additional support.

Discuss in detail how these occurrences can impact safe and efficient patient care. Discuss the instrument preparation process. What can the sterile processing technician do to ensure that all items are prepared and packaged correctly?

Sterile Processing

Case Study Scenarios

Decontamination Principles:

Dr. Sarmiento is a well-known neurosurgeon at Baptist Medical Center. He is known for working on complex cases that involve the spine and other neurological tissues. This past week, his private scrub tech has discovered that dirty neurological instruments have made it into the OR. The technician consults with the patient care manager of surgical services because the incident has been reoccurring over the past few months. With this knowledge, respond to the following questions:

  • What issue(s) have occurred, and what may be the cause of these errors?
  • What other special precautions may the sterile processing tech need to take with instruments exposed to neurological tissues?
  • What might the sterile processing department have to do to resolve this issue?
  • Thoroughly explain the decontamination process. What extra efforts should be made to ensure that clean instruments are delivered to the surgical suite?

Sterilization Methods:

Kristine, a technician in the sterile processing department, has noticed that after the sterilization of surgical equipment and supplies that at least two out of every four loads sterilized for the day have been moist. She has consulted with her supervisor on effective ways in which she could troubleshoot the concerns with wet loads, because it has now affected the department’s work efficiency and quality control.

  • Define a wet pack.
  • Define a wet load.
  • Why might the loads be wet?
  • What solutions can Kristine apply to ensure that the processed instrument sets aren’t moist?
  • Discuss how this issue can affect both the operating room and the sterile processing department. How should Kristine handle the wet packages to ensure quality control?

Preparation of Medical Equipment and Supplies:

Over the last month, the operating room has received rigid containers without filters, assembled instrumentation such as Poole suction devices in sterilized sets, and closed versus open packaged and processed instruments on the stringer and within the instrument sets.

  • Discuss in detail how these occurrences can impact safe and efficient patient care.
  • Discuss the instrument preparation process. What can the sterile processing technician do to ensure that all items are prepared and packaged correctly?
  • How does this situation impact the operating room staff?

Inventory Control and Distribution:

The sterile processing department at Hershey-Chocolate Medical Center has an excessive amount of inventory. Management has decided to restructure the inventory system used in their facility and has asked you to research at minimum four different inventory systems that may help with the safe and efficient distribution of medical supplies and is also cost-effective.

  • What inventory system may work well for their department? Discuss at least four types of inventory systems and how each could initiate a more controlled environment of inventory for the facility.

Write an essay including the main statement, the research topic(s) being addressed, how much space will be allotted for each section of the paper, and a preliminary reference list of at least 10 sources.

Healthcare Informatics- Change Theories

You are to complete a full sentence outline in preparation for the Research Project: Draft Assignment.

Describe 2 potential consequences of the event or activity.
Describe 1 strategy shown that may reduce the impact.
Give a recommendation to others about this topic. Why you did/did not like it?

What information will you include in your PowerPoint slides? What notations will you make in the speaker’s notes for your boss to stress? How will you organize the material so that it will be presented effectively for new employees exposed to terminology that you use daily?

Analyze taxonomies, clinical vocabularies, terminologies and nomenclatures used in health care settings.

Your boss, the Director of Human Resources at a prominent academic hospital, has asked you to prepare a two-part expository PowerPoint presentation to new employees during orientation. Your PowerPoint is to familiarize new staff from both clinical and administrative departments with the most common clinical and healthcare management terminology, to which they will be exposed and expected to use on their new job. Terminology shared should include aspects of taxonomies, clinical vocabularies, terminologies, and nomenclatures used in healthcare settings. A minimum of three slides should be dedicated to each department. Finally, include a section devoted to how management and clinical departments communicate for patient care. Provide examples for at least two levels of care (inpatient, outpatient, nursing facility, etc.).

Provide specific examples of concepts, topics, definitions, and other elements noted in the assignment introduction.

While preparing to complete this presentation, think about the following questions:

What information will you include in your PowerPoint slides?
What notations will you make in the speaker’s notes for your boss to stress?
How will you organize the material so that it will be presented effectively for new employees exposed to terminology that you use daily?

What will you do if you begin to feel distress during a reading, discussion or assignment? If you are around people, what will you do? If you take a break, what will you do during the break to reduce your distress?
