Budget Preparation and Rationale

You will be submitting two items for this assignment:
You will create a budget for FY 2022-2023 for your library.
You will write a budget proposal explaining the rationale for your proposed budget.
For this assignment you will be working to prepare a budget for the library you selected (YALE University Library has been selected) and have been working with for all of your previous assignments. Based on the budget you prepare; you will also be creating a written rationale to request your budget be approved. You will be working with a budget template (TEMPLATE ATTACHED) for this assignment, but keep in mind that your real library (all libraries) may have different budgeting methods and evaluation tools that they use. Since budgets vary by library type, you will want to make sure you follow the instructions and use the template that matches the type of library you are working with for this course very carefully.

Library Budget Proposal/Rationale: You will fill out the FY 2022-2023: Proposed section of your library type’s budget template. You will notice these templates already include the previous year’s budget for your chosen library, and this will help you determine your 2022-2023 budget using the instructions located in the folder for your library type (Academic Library). There are specific changes indicated in the instructions that you must follow in order for your budget to work out. Your document will also include an official rationale that details why your budget should be approved. In a one-page document (template provided entitled Library Budget Proposal Rationale”)
You will explain the rationale for your overall budget and talk about what you are requesting and why you are requesting that amount. Your proposal should be fairly detailed (don’t just say “there was an increase in spending on X, Y, or Z”; say how much). Here is an example:

As a Director of Human Resources, for the organization, you have been tasked to present information about the following: Details about how COVID-19 has impacted retail businesses/the retail industry. An explanation of what organizational changes (e.g., policies and procedures, technological considerations, etc.) need to be considered and implemented to accommodate this new work from home culture.

As mentioned, during Module 1 and reinforced throughout HRM460, our world continues to change and evolve. HR professionals, organizational employees, leaders, directors, etc. need to understand how internal and external organizational factors impact change initiatives. Furthermore, the impact of change processes, to respond to the ever-changing world around us, need to be considered, especially in terms of how changes impact individuals, teams, and organizations.

Scenario

In February of 2020, a large online retailer began to experience the impact of COVID-19. Many employees were sick, could not come into the office due to exposure, were experiencing childcare issues, etc. While warehouse staff have remained onsite, Retailer ABC has decided that the organization’s processes need to change.

Since COVID-19, Retailer ABC has decided to shut its corporate office locations. While the warehouse/shipping/distribution centers will still remain open, all office personnel are required to work from home for the indefinite future. As a Director of Human Resources, for the organization, you have been tasked to present information about the following:

Details about how COVID-19 has impacted retail businesses/the retail industry.
An explanation of what organizational changes (e.g., policies and procedures, technological considerations, etc.) need to be considered and implemented to accommodate this new work from home culture.
Provide details about change processes that can be used to successfully carry out these organizational changes.
A detailed explanation of how organizational changes might impact individuals and teams.
An explanation of the roles and responsibilities leadership team members play in the successful implementation of this change initiative.
Recommendations about what types of metrics can be utilized to determine if the change initiative was successful.

Be familiar with that concept to correctly analyze the case study attached. Input all responses in the worksheet but is allowed to answer the questions in a word document as well, provided they include the question.

Case Study Analysis

Read the case study and complete the Case Analysis Worksheet with the information that you feel answers the questions. If the writer feels one of the questions is not applicable to the case, then indicate that and provide a reason why they feel it doesn’t apply. This is a management course case study that involves using binary integer programming problems to minimize the cost noted on the case study. The writer is expected to be familiar with that concept to correctly analyze the case study attached. The writer is required to input all responses in the worksheet but is allowed to answer the questions in a word document as well, provided they include the question.

Apply knowledge of the environmental and organisational context to project management. Evaluate and critically debate alternative approaches to delivering project outcomes.

Your analysis should be performed from the perspective of a project management professional. Give examples from practice to illustrate your account. use 10 academic sources at least (references). low plagiarism. Provide a critical analysis of Stakeholder Analysis, Planning and Risk Management as important project management factors that contribute to the successful delivery of this project.
