Week’s journal assignment

For this week’s journal assignment, you are expected to discuss key resources, particularly any assessment tools that you have identified as valuable for your term project. What initial questions did you develop to determine what assessment tool(s) would be useful for the scope of work in your project? What do you anticipate will be challenging about utilizing the specific tool(s) or resources. If you are deciding between a few particular resources, utilize this as an opportunity to discuss pros and cons.

  • Journal submissions should be between 350-500 words.
  • Writing in the first person is most appropriate for journal submissions and you are not required to include references.

As part of your exploration of the various assessment tools used by coaches and consultants, you are encouraged to share some additional resources with which you are familiar or curious about within the discussion forum. What do you find most fascinating about the assessment tool you shared and what do we know about its advantages and limitations?

Create a short team vision that summarizes what the team needs to accomplish and describes how it will interact in order to accomplish its mission. This should be a simple sentence or two.
Ground Rules to Communicate:
Come to agreement on how and when you will communicate. Be detailed. You’ll want to include things like expectations for response times, whether responses should be in the same format as prior contact (e.g. an email response to an email, a text response to a text message), whether individual side conversations are acceptable, etc.

Conflict Management:
Explain how the team will deal with conflict. What steps will you take to manage internal team conflict? What is the escalation process you’ll follow? Be detailed. This would benefit from a step-by-step process.

  • The next part of the plan will divvy up the research, slide development, and editing for clarity and accuracy. Remember to include every step of the process for idea development through submission. Be sure to consider your timeline (for example, the team members submitting research need to be done before the one who is responsible for submitting the final project). Depending on the task, some team members may have more than one responsibility.

200 guests are anticipated
All guests will require overnight accommodations
Guests will arrive at 10am on day 1

Case Study on Baggage Handling

One of the best ways to learn is to analyze a case; a particular situation that exemplifies the issues, strengths, and weaknesses that are faced when actually managing a project. This is a proven learning tool shown to reinforce understanding, and the application of knowledge.

Calleam Consulting Case Study on Denver Int’l Airport Baggage Handling will be used to complete Module 7 case study analysis.Even though other Project Management Knowledge Areas will present themselves in the case, the focus of the case study analysis are the following three Knowledge Areas; Communications, Risk and Procurement management (PMBOK 10,11, & 12). Together these are important knowledge Areas because a project cannot be managed successfully without effective communications, risk management and mitigation, and timely purchasing of necessary supplies.

Framework:

Introduce the case and offer a summary of the issues and the main concerns in the case.

Explain how the issues and concerns could impact the success of the project.

Drawing from the PMBOK Guide (Chapter 10,11, & 12) and most importantly your knowledge and expertise of project management:

Critique how the case was handled.

1. What was done right, what went wrong, what could have been done differently, why, and how?

2. Explain what you learned about project management from the case. Include an explanation of how knowledge of the PMBOK (Chapters 10, 11, & 12) could have helped alleviate the issues in the case.

3. Offer solid and defensible conclusion(s) and recommendations.

  • Must reference theory, concepts, material covered in the course, and Project Management material in general.
  • Must be in MLA stated citation/reference format with in-text citations and a bibliography/work cited page.
