Scenario: This simulation presents a real-life situation for analysis and decision-making. You are the specialist in your new unit, and currently also the person in charge. A young boy, terminally ill collapsed in your shift while you were at a meeting out of the ward. The junior registered nurse/doctor-initiated Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and called the code for the advanced resuscitation team to assist. Exercises for EVIDENCE -BASED PRACTICE For the simulation session of Evidence-based practice module, review simulated botched Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). the video link on the in the unit is based and the violation need to empower the Activity: 29 July — 5 August: Watch the video on botched PALS As a specialist nurse, you have a responsibility to ensure the practice on evidence.

Having realized that the handling of CPR was not appropriate of the patient’s wishes that resuscitation should not take place, you other staff for better management in the future.

Review the video-screening you watched for the module Praxis of Specialist practice

Complete the exercise for the Evidence-based practice .

  3. What are A.J.’s risk factors for OSA? What are other risk factors for OSA?
  4. A.J. asks how a diagnosis of OSA would be made. How would you respond?
  5. What complications can result from untreated OSA?
  6. How does a CPAP machine work? What is an alternative device that may be useful for those who cannot tolerate a CPAP machine?
  7. What are some conservative OSA treatment interventions that you can teach A.J.?
  8. What lifestyle modifications would A.J. want to make to treat his OSA? Select all that apply.

Develop a Focused SOAP Note, including your differential diagnosis and critical-thinking process to formulate a primary diagnosis.

Focused SOAP Note for Anxiety, PTSD, and OCD

The Assignment

Develop a Focused SOAP Note, including your differential diagnosis and critical-thinking process to formulate a primary diagnosis. Incorporate the following into your responses in the template:

1). Subjective: What details did the patient provide regarding their chief complaint and symptomology to derive your differential diagnosis? What is the duration and severity of their symptoms? How are their symptoms impacting their functioning in life?

2). Objective: What observations did you make during the psychiatric assessment?

3). Assessment: Discuss the patient’s mental status examination results. What were your differential diagnoses? Provide a minimum of three possible diagnoses with supporting evidence, listed in order from highest priority to lowest priority. Compare the DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria for each differential diagnosis and explain what DSM-5-TR criteria rules out the differential diagnosis to find an accurate diagnosis. Explain the critical-thinking process that led you to the primary diagnosis you selected. Include pertinent positives and pertinent negatives for the specific patient case.

4). Plan: What is your plan for psychotherapy? What is your plan for treatment and management, including alternative therapies? Include pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic treatments, alternative therapies, and follow-up parameters, as well as a rationale for this treatment and management plan. Also incorporate one health promotion activity and one patient education strategy.

5). Reflection notes: What would you do differently with this patient if you could conduct the session again? Discuss what your next intervention would be if you could follow up with this patient. Also include in your reflection a discussion related to legal/ethical considerations (demonstrate critical thinking beyond confidentiality and consent for treatment!), health promotion, and disease prevention, taking into consideration patient factors (such as age, ethnic group, etc.), PMH, and other risk factors (e.g., socioeconomic, cultural background, etc.).

6). Provide at least three evidence-based, peer-reviewed journal articles or evidenced-based guidelines that relate to this case to support your diagnostics and differential diagnoses. Be sure they are current (no more than 5 years old).

Identify a different nursing theory that applies to this topic and explain how theory affects your individualized assessment, targeted intervention, and measurable specific outcomes. At least 2 grand theories (e.g., Neuman, Johnson, King, Roy, Rogers, etc.) and 3 middle-range nursing theories (e.g., Benner, Pender, Leininger, Mishel, etc.) must be selected. Use the discussion board to state your selected theory ahead of time. WE WANT NO DUPLICATION OF THEORY TO OCCUR. Need two references for each post that are in correct APA 7th edition format

Need two references for each post that are in correct APA 7th edition format.

  1. One primary article or book that was written by the theorist and describes the theory.
  2. One current primary research article that supports the intervention you describe to address the topic.

For the initial posting, students need to include:

– Purpose of the theory, major concepts and relationship statements, and usefulness.

– Describe the major concepts and relationship statements between concepts applicable to your group topic. Provide a succinct description of the theory (Prefer less than 1000 words).

– Include conceptual and operational definitions and specific linkages of concepts that are applicable to the relationship statements/propositions you plan to apply to your group’s selected topic. One or two relationship statements suffice. If the definitions of concepts are not provided or relationship statements not specifically stated by the theorist state this.

Make sure the relationship statements and major concepts of your theory are paraphrased in your own words. To simply copy this information from one source to another does not allow faculty to assess your understanding of the assignment nor your ability to paraphrase information at a graduate level. This is true for all discussion post assignments this semester.

Describe specifically how your intervention fits with the theory guiding your intervention.

How will you specifically measure the specific theory concepts and assess if the planned intervention worked? Ask yourself – Would another APN be able to specifically perform your intervention from the description you provide?
