Explain your particular pathophysiology from a scientific standpoint. Describe what the pathophysiology is doing that is causing these issues, how the normal anatomy & physiology is affected/different in a person with your condition.

Rickets Disease

Description of Pathology:

In this section, you will describe the pathology (statistics about it, background information, etc.). Give as much information as you can about it but be sure it is relevant information and not just filler. It should be a comprehensive introductory section of the condition in one to two paragraphs.

Normal anatomy of the major body system affected: In this section, you will describe what is considered normal anatomy for your particular pathophysiology.

You should show comprehensive knowledge of the fundamental concepts and communicate information using scientific vocabulary.

Normal physiology of the major body system affected: In this section, you will be discussing physiology. Keep in mind that when describing physiology, it isn’t enough to merely provide a list of functions of the body system , instead, you need to be able to describe how it does it. The how is the physiology.

There should be little to no discussion of the condition itself in this section Mechanism of Pathophysiology:

This section is likely going to be the most in-depth and longest section.

In this section, you will explain your particular pathophysiology from a scientific standpoint.

In the previous two sections, you explained what is considered normal, in this section, you should describe what the pathophysiology is doing that is causing these issues, how the normal anatomy & physiology is affected/different in a person with your condition.

You should show a thorough understanding of the anatomical and physiological changes contributing to the disease. Some good keywords to search for when doing your research might be “Pathology of __________”, Pathophysiology of __________.”

Prevention: In this section, you will explain how your pathophysiology could be prevented. This should outline possible prevention protocols, or clearly indicate if none is available based on the current scientific literature. Treatment: In this section, you will explain how your pathophysiology is commonly treated.

Provide possible treatment protocols for the condition based on current scientific literature. Be sure to bring in nursing relevant information and how you might be involved in the treatment of the condition.

Conclusion:

Finally you should summarize your findings. All good research papers should include a conclusion where you wrap up and summarize all of the important points made in your paper.

Identify and describe practice barriers for all four APNs roles in your state and discuss these barriers on a state and national level. Identify forms of competition on the state and national level that interfere with APN’s ability to practice independently.

Discussion

Using the readings from this week as well as outside reliable resources to:

1. Identify and describe practice barriers for all four APNs roles in your state and discuss these barriers on a state and national level. The four roles include the nurse midwife, nurse anesthetist, nurse practitioner and clinical nurse specialist.

2. Identify forms of competition on the state and national level that interfere with APN’s ability to practice independently.

3. Identify the specific lawmakers by name at the state level (i.e., key members of the state’s legislative branch and executive branch of government)

4. Discuss interest groups that exist at the state and national levels that influence APN policy.

5. Discuss methods used to influence change in policy in forms of competition, state legislative and executive branches of government and interest groups.

6. A scholarly resource must be used for EACH discussion question each week

Do you agree with the priorities or would you recommend addition or elimination of some of the priorities? What effect do the nursing research priorities have on nursing researchers? What criteria must be met in order to consider a practice, evidence-based? Provide examples. Explain the role quality plays in evidence-based practice?

PowerPoint presentations

Based on what you have learned so far this week, create a PowerPoint presentation with detailed notes for each slide that addresses each of the following points/questions.

No audio recording is required. Be sure to completely answer all the questions. Use clear headings that allow your professor to know which bullet you are addressing on the slides in your presentation. Support your content with at least four (4) citations throughout your presentation. Make sure to reference the citations using the APA writing style for the presentation. Include a slide for your references at the end. Follow best practices for PowerPoint presentations by going to the Writing and Resource center, Module 3: Assignments, Microsoft, and utilize the Microsoft Overview and the Creating a Quality PowerPoint video.

Explore the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) website.

Review their publication Bringing Science to Life: NINR Strategic Plan (2011, p. 7) to identify the current priorities for nursing research.

• Do you agree with the priorities or would you recommend addition or elimination of some of the priorities?
• What effect do the nursing research priorities have on nursing researchers?
• What criteria must be met in order to consider a practice, evidence-based? Provide examples.
• Explain the role quality plays in evidence-based practice?

Based on the information you’ve learned to this point, write a research proposal that relates to a chosen research topic.

Include the following information in your proposal:

  • Hypothesis
  • Theory
  • Design model
  • Method(s)
  • Anticipated results
  • Potential PLG – 1, 4

Consider whether psychotherapy also has a biological basis and analyze the ways in which legal and ethical considerations differ in the individual, family, and group therapy settings.

Discussion board

Many studies have found that psychotherapy is as effective as psychopharmacology in terms of influencing changes in behaviors, symptoms of anxiety, and changes in mental state. Changes influenced by psychopharmacology can be explained by the biological basis of treatments. But how does psychotherapy achieve these changes? Does psychotherapy share common neuronal pathways with psychopharmacology?

Psychotherapy is used with individuals as well as in groups or families. The idea of discussing confidential information with a patient in front of an audience is probably quite foreign to you. However, in group and family therapy, this is precisely what the psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner does. In your role, learning how to provide this type of therapy within the limits of confidentiality is essential.

For this Discussion, you will consider whether psychotherapy also has a biological basis and analyze the ways in which legal and ethical considerations differ in the individual, family, and group therapy settings.

To prepare:

Review this week’s Learning Resources, reflecting on foundational concepts of psychotherapy, biological and social impacts on psychotherapy, and legal and ethical issues across the modalities (individual, family, and group).
Search the Walden Library databases for scholarly, peer-reviewed articles that inform and support your academic perspective on these topics.

Response to the discussion question is reflective with critical analysis and synthesis representative of knowledge gained from the course readings for the module and current credible sources.–

What are the major components that make up the subcortical structures? Which component plays a role in learning, memory, and addiction? What are the two key neurotransmitters located in the nigra striatal region of the brain that play a major role in motor control? In 3 or 4 sentences, explain how glia cells function in the central nervous system. Be specific and provide examples.

Understanding of neuroanatomy

As a psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner, before you can recommend potential pharmacotherapeutics to address a patient’s condition or disorder, you must understand the basic function and structure of the neuron and central nervous system.

For this Assignment, you will review and apply your understanding of neuroanatomy by addressing a set of short answer prompts.

Address the following Short Answer prompts for your Assignment. Be sure to include references

In 4 or 5 sentences, describe the anatomy of the basic unit of the nervous system, the neuron. Include each part of the neuron and a general overview of electrical impulse conduction, the pathway it travels, and the net result at the termination of the impulse. Be specific and provide examples.

Answer the following (listing is acceptable for these questions): What are the major components that make up the subcortical structures?

Which component plays a role in learning, memory, and addiction?

What are the two key neurotransmitters located in the nigra striatal region of the brain that play a major role in motor control?

In 3 or 4 sentences, explain how glia cells function in the central nervous system. Be specific and provide examples.

The synapse is an area between two neurons that allows for chemical communication.

In 3 or 4 sentences, explain what part of the neurons are communicating with each other and in which direction does this communication occur? Be specific.

In 3–5 sentences, explain the concept of “neuroplasticity.” Be specific and provide examples.

Develop a project related to a Manipulative and Body Based therapy of interest to them. Write a paper defining the chosen therapy and its uses, comparing two types of the chosen therapy, and discussing how the therapy has been or could be used in the student’s practice.

Integrating Manipulative and Body-Based Therapies into Practice

The first part

Develop a project related to a Manipulative and Body Based therapy of interest to them. The first part of the project is to write a paper defining the chosen therapy and its uses, comparing two types of the chosen therapy, and discussing how the therapy has been or could be used in the student’s practice.

Use a minimum of 2 peer-reviewed journal articles for this section of the project. Journal articles used as references must have been published within the last 5 years, unless it is considered a sentinel article.

Additional references may include your textbook or other scholarly sources. All assignments should be in APA format according to the 7th edition of the American Psychological Association’s Manual.

The body of the paper should be 1 ½ – 2 pages in length. The second section of the project (see below) should be included as an addendum to the paper.

The second part

Perform an internet search to determine if there is a certification for therapists who engage in the chosen therapy, identify the certifying body or bodies, and describe the education and training required for certification or levels of certification.

If there is no certification available for the chosen therapy, the student will compare requirements from two programs that offer training in this therapy.

Then write an opinion of whether or not consideration of certification is important when recommending use of complementary therapies for their patients and provide reasons for their opinions.

There is no requirement for length or format in this section of the project; paragraph, chart, bullet points, etc. are all acceptable. Include the website(s) used for this section in your referenchoce list and include citations.

In this Discussion, you examine a national healthcare issue and consider how that issue may impact your work setting. Also analyze how your organization has responded to this issue.

Discussion: Review of Current Healthcare Issues

If you were to ask 10 people what they believe to be the most significant issue facing healthcare today, you might get 10 different answers. Escalating costs? Regulation? Technology disruption? These and many other topics are worthy of discussion.

In this Discussion, you examine a national healthcare issue and consider how that issue may impact your work setting. Also analyze how your organization has responded to this issue.

Review the Resources and select one current national healthcare issue/stressor to focus on. Reflect on the current national healthcare issue/stressor you selected and think about how this issue/stressor may be addressed in your work setting. (Inpatient psychiatric hospital)

Post a description of the national healthcare issue/stressor you selected for analysis, and explain how the healthcare issue/stressor may impact your work setting.

Then, describe how your health system work setting has responded to the healthcare issue/stressor, including a description of what changes may have been implementechod. Be specific and provide examples.
