Assess how the creation of a healthy work environment promotes nurse satisfaction and retention. Evaluate how corrective action can be used to improve staff performance. Analyze causes for the current nursing shortage and its impact on nurse staffing.

Sustaining a Healthy Work Environment

It is important that all nurse function as leaders in promoting a healthy work environment.  Although managers must be involved in promoting a healthy work environment, morale, productivity, and job satisfaction of the team is a daily task and is shared by all members of the team, not just the leadership.

Nurses make up the majority of the workforce in acute care settings, such as hospitals.  Nurses have the power to influence the development of a culture of safety and support for all staff working in their organization.

Identify three major components of the Medicare and Medicaid programs and, based on these components, identify at least two patient coverage gaps for each of the programs. Be clear when you describe the coverage and the gaps as they may relate to specific ages, patient populations, or disease entities. Use primary sources to identify the components and the gaps. Additionally, discuss your stand (criticize or defend) regarding the relevance of the Social Security program to the American public. Should the program be left alone, modified, drastically changed, or eliminated? Provide the rationale and use facts to defend your position.

Relate the potential of utilizing cannabis as medicine on the global scale as it relates to supporting environmental justice and sustainability.

Ubiquitous Utilization of Cannabis Medicine

This first paper will be 3-5 pages long, not including cover page and reference list. A variety of topics gleaned from the course content, with professor’s approval, will be acceptable as topics for the first written paper assignment. After that, 2.5 points will be deducted from the grade for this submission for every 24 hour period it is late.

Use correct grammar and write in the style that your program has instructed you. For nursing majors, that will be APA style.

Make sure to include an introduction, discussion and summary in your written work. Topics may include, but are not limited to the following:
