Why is problem redefinition important? Describe two different mechanisms that can help with the task of defining and redefining problems. (From Chapter 6)

Use APA format with 2 peer reviewed references.

Describe the various stakeholders involved in this project with whom you may need to build trust. Describe all the factors you should consider when taking on this goal.

DISCUSSION ESSAY

You have just graduated from GCU with your MPA and landed a job as an assistant to the City of Phoenix manger. The City of Phoenix and GCU are collaborating to enact a quarter cent sales tax in order to extend the light rail down Camelback, making a stop at the main entrance of the campus. Using the readings from this topic, do the following in 500‐750 words.

  1. Describe the various stakeholders involved in this project with whom you may need to build trust.
  2. Describe all the factors you should consider when taking on this goal.
  3. Explain how you can use your knowledge of these factors to build trust with the various parties involved.
  4. Recommend best practices to build trust with all stakeholders involved.

Use two to three scholarly resources to support your explanations.

Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.

This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

Describe the rationale for utilizing probability concepts. Is there more than one type of probability? If so, describe the different types of probability.

Probability

  1. Describe the rationale for utilizing probability concepts.  Is there more than one type of probability?  If so, describe the different types of probability.
  2. Briefly discuss probability distributions.  What is a normal distribution?  Please provide a written example of how ‘understanding distribution’ can be an asset for any business project.

What is the difference between a distributed and a centralized computer system? Describe the underlying principles and issues of distributed versus centralized computer systems and how cloud-based solutions have altered current networking solutions. Refer to the network diagrams you created as an illustration of a distributed network.

DISCUSSION ESSAY

Throughout the course you have been working with improvements to the Bedford Campus and its satellite campus in Mayberry and an additional satellite. Because of your work, you have been promoted from IT networking trainee to IT networking technician. A new trainee will be starting next week and your boss has asked you to provide a training guide for the new trainee highlighting the knowledge and skills you have developed.

Using Individual and Learning Team assignments and discussions as reference, compile your guide as follows:

As a reference, compile the final network diagrams (1 page each) for all campuses with all of the improvements you and your team have made.

Create a 1- to 2-page Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) in the form of a table in Microsoft® Word including the following questions:

  • What is the difference between a distributed and a centralized computer system? Describe the underlying principles and issues of distributed versus centralized computer systems and how cloud-based solutions have altered current networking solutions. Refer to the network diagrams you created as an illustration of a distributed network.
  • What are the major network topologies? Refer to the network diagrams you created as an illustration of the logical and physical topology you employed.
  • Why are standards bodies essential in networking and the Internet?
  • Why are the OSI and TCP/IP network models important in networking? Provide an example from one of the labs that illustrates the performance of one of the protocols you used.
  • What are the major TCP/IP protocols in use today? Provide an example from one of the labs that illustrates troubleshooting an issue with a protocol you used.
  • What is the difference between a LAN and a WAN?
  • What is meant by the terms latency, response time, and jitter, and what tools could you use to measure these?
  • What is VOIP, and what older technologies does it replace?

Create a 14- to 16-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation, including Introduction, Conclusion, and Reference slides, that contains the following:

  • An accurate description of the “building blocks” of today’s data communication networks, such as switches, routers, and cabling. Provide examples from your network diagram of each building block.
  • A concise strategy to ensure the availability of network access in switched and routed networks. Provide illustrations from your improvements to the original campus networks.
  • An explanation of how firewalls mitigate some network attack scenarios. Give at least two examples from your solutions to the campus network that illustrates how you mitigated network attacks.
  • A list of at least five security concerns inherent to wired, wireless, and mobile networking.
  • A description of at least 3 responsibilities networking teams face in providing networking services, including security, privacy, reliability, and performance.

Note: Other applications like Adobe® Spark or Microsoft® Sway® or Mix can be used instead of PowerPoint®.

Be sure to include supportive graphics and appropriate backgrounds and styles. All references need to adhere to APA guidelines, and images should not be copied unless author permission is obtained or copyright free images are used.

Week 5: Measurement Strategies

Give one example of a data collection method used in one of the studies identified in your Week 5 project. What variable was this method used to measure?

Data was collected retrospectively from two academic hospitals and two community hospitals in Massachusetts. Data was limited to mechanical ventilation episodes that started between March 1 and August 31 in each year from 2017 to 2020.

Data was extracted through the electronic health record systems by using the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) ventilator associated event (VAE) criteria. The following information was also collected along with the start and stop dates of mechanical ventilation: age, sex, date of admission, date of VAE, and mortality during hospitalization.

Patients who received extracorporeal membrane oxygenation were excluded from the data as this does not beet the definition of the CDC’s VAE criteria. Comorbidities were extracted from diagnoses in the electronic medical records using the Elixhauser method.

The Elixhauser Comorbidity Index is a method of categorizing comorbidities (Links to an external site.) of patients based on the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) (Links to an external site.) diagnosis codes found in administrative data, such as hospital abstracts data. Each comorbidity category is dichotomous — it is either present or it is not. The Index can be used to predict hospital resource use and in-hospital mortality (Elixhauser et al., 1998) (Links to an external site.) (Tsai et. al., 2020).

This method was used to compare 1) VAE rates in pandemic years vs. pre-pandemic years, and 2) VAE causes in COVID-19 positive vs. COVID-19 negative patients (Weinberger et. al., 2022).

Pick two of the above graphs you chose and describe the shape of those distributions. Why did you use the certain graphs you did? Are there any benefits over the other?

SCM 200 Project 1

The Lending Club is a lending company based on San Franscisco, CA. They connect borrowers with investors through an online marketplace. They have provided a publicly available data from 2007-2011. https://www.lendingclub.com/info/download-data.act… Please see the data with its data dictionary (This is in another separate excel sheet which explains what all the variables mean). You just got an interview as an analyst for the Lending Club. The client wants you to analyze this big amount of information.

  1. Start by making initial observations of the data. What types of variables are present? Is there anything that catches your eye? A good analyst checks the data carefully. See the Quartz Guide to Bad Data on our slides.
  2. Use at least two ways to summarize the qualitative data present in the data set with frequency distributions and the various graphs/charts we have used in the class for Chapter 2.
  3. Do the same thing with the quantitative data present. These four ways should be different aspects from the data set. Interpret your results.
  4. Pick two of the above graphs you chose and describe the shape of those distributions.
  5. Why did you use the certain graphs you did? Are there any benefits over the other?

How has your completion of the Ishikawa diagram assisted your understanding of the root causes and ultimate effects of the conflict? What viable solutions can you recommend to improve the situation?

CASE STUDY

First, read Chapter 7 in The Essential Workplace Conflict Handbook and Fishbone (Ishikawa) Diagram.

Next, in your initial post, address the following:

  • How has your completion of the Ishikawa diagram assisted your understanding of the root causes and ultimate effects of the conflict?
  • What viable solutions can you recommend to improve the situation?
  • What are the essential steps you would need to take to separate the people from the problem in your organization’s conflict?
  • How will you apply your understanding of cause and effect to the conflict in your organization or the Garden Depot
