You have the image file: Flower Girl.img

You should answer the following questions:

  • What did you find on the flash drive .
  • What actions did you take to analyze?
  • In your opinion, did he harass her or not? Explain why and how you arrived to this conclusion! What did he do?
  • Why was this case called “the flower girl”?

Explain the helping skills you believe are most important when working with a client facing some sort of fear or a client being made to feel “small.”

Quote Reflection 7: Respect of the Individual in Adversity

When we think about people as clients, people living with problems that they can’t seem to resolve on their own, we must always keep in mind the value of every human life as well as the potential for happiness that lies within each of us. You will find two quotes to choose from in this assignment because both are relevant to the topic—perhaps from differing perspectives. After reading each quote below, be sure to read the biographical information about the person credited with each. Read the biographies of Doctor Seuss (Theodor Seuss Geisel) and Eleanor Roosevelt .

Young or old, we all deserve the opportunity to enjoy the joys and challenges of life.

“A person’s a person no matter how small.”
From Horton Hears a Who by Dr. Seuss (Theodor Seuss Geisel

“You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”
– Eleanor Roosevelt

So, the decision is now in your hands. Please read both quotes and the biographies of the people credited with them. Choose one that has meaning or significance to you. Based on your integration and application of the chapter readings, module notes, professional experience, and external sources, compose a thoughtful response to the following discussion prompts:

  • Based on the quote you have chosen, demonstrate how the philosophy reflected in the quote is important in the field of Human Services.
  • Explain the helping skills you believe are most important when working with a client facing some sort of fear or a client being made to feel “small.”

Provide a paper on a future PowerPoint project that will be written about regarding a special population within Human Services.

 PowerPoint project

This course is an Introduction to Human Services. Assignment instructions uploaded. Provide a paper on a future PowerPoint project that will be written about regarding a special population within Human Services.

Write a letter to the editor on a national, state or local political issue. Remember to make arguments, which you make in response to a fact or argument presented in the original article/editorial. You either agree or disagree with the writer. Explain why.

For this assignment you will write a letter to the editor on a national, state or local political issue. Your letter has to be a response to a major article or editorial* from a reliable and credible source.** In other words, do not pick a one-paragraph news note and/or a heavily slanted source. All news media are accessible on-line. You must document the link to your source.***

There really isn’t much to worry about regarding the format of this letter. You start with Dear Editor and in your opening you state to what article or news story you are referring (e.g., Dear Editor, I am writing in reference to your story/article/post about …. Published/posted/retrieved on ….).

Remember to make arguments, which you make in response to a fact or argument presented in the original article/editorial. You either agree or disagree with the writer. Explain why. Remember arguments are opinions supported by facts and reason. Also, you are writing to a general audience meaning that the reader may not have the same background or knowledge as you do; they may also not have read the news story to which you are responding. The objective of the letter is to persuade the reader of your viewpoint.

Length and format for assignments apply (1.5-2 FULL pages; double spaced, standard fonts and margins; no foul or derogatory language, e.g., "stupid").

Create a justification for the solution using the intangible elements the solution will provide. Explain how these elements have a significant impact on the organization, employees, and customers.

The Value of Intangible Benefits assignment

In this assignment, you will construct a justification for the purchase or outsourcing of the technology you would recommend as the solution to the video communication problem described in your Week 3 What It Takes to Be a Champion of Change Video Presentation discussion. Conduct an internet search using the key-word phrase “video conferencing solutions” to identify a solution that might fit the company’s needs.

NOTE: The chosen technology is only a framework and isn’t as important as your justifications using the intangibles you identified in your Week 2 What are Intangibles Worth? discussion, Current Intangible Business Costs assignment, and from reviewing the An Intangible Example Download An Intangible Exampledocument recommended resource.

Using the elements you identified in the DaregeanGrix scenario in Week 2 for justification,

Build a table with approximate costs associated with each of the elements in the company’s current environment.
Some of these should be actual (tangible) costs and some should be implied (intangible) costs (e.g., customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, efficiency, etc.).
Weigh the tangible costs and the intangible improvements that the new technology will bring to the organization using a narrative format and contextual reasoning.
Create a justification for the solution using the intangible elements the solution will provide.
Explain how these elements have a significant impact on the organization, employees, and customers.

Remember that your goal is to be able to justify a possible investment using intangible benefits in a new technology in which there is little in the way of traditional return on investment (ROI) to lean on.

Explain how research has informed your approach to the issue of employee morale. How are other companies approaching the issue of employee morale? What other kinds of research could you use to further improve the plan?

Professional Practice

Part 1: Email

First, write a 200- to 300-word email back to Nathan.

Relate your own personal experiences to his professional situation.
Think about what has motivated you in the past.
Consider a time in your professional or personal life when you didn’t feel motivated. What about the situation made it hard to feel invested? What did you do to push through?
What did you learn that could apply to Nathan’s situation?

Part 2: Briefing Document
Read the articles that Gregory sent to you, and prepare an 800- to 1,000-word briefing document.

Explain how research has informed your approach to the issue of employee morale.
How are other companies approaching the issue of employee morale?
What other kinds of research could you use to further improve the plan?

Describe how past experiences can apply to the new challenge Quantigration faces.
Think about your email to Nathan. Can the situation and strategies you described be applied to Quantigration?
What other experiences have you had that might apply?

Describe how research and personal experiences work together to inform decisions.
How do you compare the personal experience with research to reach new conclusions?
Did the information in the research change the way you perceived the problem?

What to Submit
Every project has a deliverable or deliverables, which are the files that must be submitted before your project can be assessed. For this project, you must submit the following:

Email
Write a 200- to 300-word email that outlines what motivates you. Be sure to consider a time in your professional or personal life and how it could apply to Nathan’s situation.

Briefing Document
Write an 800- to 1,000-word document that examines research on employee morale: Use the Employee Morale Research that Gregory has compiled for the board of directors to inform this briefing. Make sure that you summarize the findings and relate them to your own experiences.

What is the accuracy of the model with full complexity on the training set? What is the accuracy on the validation set? Compare the accuracy values for the training set and validation set. Is there a sign of over-fitting?

Data Mining

Course Section: 001 or 002

A total of 1 question with 8 parts for 50 points.

1- This question involves concepts and practices from Naïve Bayes and CART classifier. Download and open “Assignment4-Code.R” and “accidents1.csv” data file from Canvas. The data set contains 595 records of car accidents. Description of the parameters are show in the following table:

  • RUSH_HR Accident occurred during rugh hours or not
  • WRK_ZONE Accident occurred in the work zone or not
  • WKDY Accident occurred on the weekdays or weekends
  • INT_HWY Accident occurred on the interstate highways or not
  • SPD_LIM Speed limit in the accident zone
  • SUR_COND_dry Road surface was dry or wet when the accident occurred
  • TRAF_two_way Accident occurred on a two-way traffic road or on-way
  • WEATHER_adverse Weather was normal or adverse when the accident occurred
  • MAX_SEV Maximum severity level: No-Injury and Non-Fatal

In this data set, MAX_SEV is our target with two levels. Open the R code in RStudio and read the remarks  and follow the instructions to answer the following questions.

What is the probability of accident with No-Injury?

What is the probability of having Wet-Road as the road surface condition?

What is the probability of an accident with No-Injury and Wet-Road condition?

What is the conditional probability of No-Injury given that the roads are wet?

First, calculate in part b and in part c, and then plug in the values into the above formula to calculate the conditional probability.

Split the data into training and validation sets. Train a decision tree with full complexity (CP=0). How many leaves are in this tree?

What is the accuracy of the model with full complexity on the training set? What is the accuracy on the validation set? Compare the accuracy values for the training set and validation set. Is there a sign of over-fitting?

From the full tree developed in the previous part, what is the CP value that corresponds to the minimum cross-validation error (xerror)?

Train a new decision tree with the optimum CP value that you found in the previous step. What is the accuracy of the full complexity model on the training set? What is the accuracy on the validation set? Compare the accuracy values for the training set and validation set. Is there a sign of over-fitting?

Data Mining and Analysis

Telecommunications, Computers and the Internet of Things

In 2018 the company had a data analyst that put together Excel spreadsheet tables on various aspects of the Telecommunications, Computer and Internet of Things Industries. The company was trying to discover the overall structure of the marketplace and the relative market shares of IoT devices in terms of units, prices, and overall revenues.

The new CEO of the Company has asked you, the new class of data analysts to review the work that was done, find new sources of updated data, update the data and provide forecasts for all elements and segments for the foreseeable future.

Divide the work, each team will research and update an aspect of the project for one week and bring the data sheets back to the entire group, who will check the accuracy and completeness of the submitted work, assign a grade, and then work in their team to update the business plan data, make a summary and improve the PowerPoint presentation.

Determine the categories and assign the subtasks to the teams. You do not have access to the financial model, you just need to identify and quantify the inputs.

Do you think the agents would prefer a different confidence interval than their management? What advantages and disadvantages would there be in having different confidence intervals for the agents? Explain your thought process and reasoning in your response.

Confidence Intervals

The B&K Real Estate Company sells homes and is currently serving the Southeast region. It has recently expanded to cover the Northeast states. The B&K realtors are excited to now cover the entire East Coast and are working to prepare their southern agents to expand their reach to the Northeast.

B&K has hired your company to analyze the Northeast home listing prices in order to give information to their agents about the mean listing price at 95% confidence. Your company offers three analysis packages: one based on a sample size of 100 listings, one based on 1,000 listings, and another based on a sample size of 4,000 listings. Because there is an additional cost for data collection, your company charges more for the package with 4,000 listings than for the package with 100 listings.

Bronze Package – Sample size of 100 listings:
95% confidence interval for the mean of the Northeast house listing price has a margin of error of $24,500
Cost for service to B&K: $2,000
Silver Package – Sample size of 1,000 listings:
95% confidence interval for the mean of the Northeast house listing price has a margin of error of $7,750
Cost for service to B&K: $10,000
Gold Package – Sample size of 4,000 listings:
95% confidence interval for the mean of the Northeast house listing price has a margin of error of $3,900
Cost for service to B&K: $25,000

The B&K management team does not understand the tradeoff between confidence level, sample size, and margin of error. B&K would like you to come back with your recommendation of the sample size that would provide the sales agents with the best understanding of northeast home prices at the lowest cost for service to B&K.

In other words, which option is preferable?

Spending more on data collection and having a smaller margin of error
Spending less on data collection and having a larger margin of error
Choosing an option somewhere in the middle
For your initial post:

Formulate a recommendation and write a confidence statement in the context of this scenario. For the purposes of writing your confidence statement, assume the sample mean house listing price is $310,000 for all packages. “I am [#] % confident the true mean . . . [in context].”
Explain the factors that went into your recommendation, including a discussion of the margin of error
For your response posts to your peers, choose two different confidence intervals for your responses. Do you think the agents would prefer a different confidence interval than their management? What advantages and disadvantages would there be in having different confidence intervals for the agents? Explain your thought process and reasoning in your response.
