Company hiring a New CISO

Introduction

A well-known company (you select the industry or the company that will help you design the plan) has suffered a breach and is concluding its return to normal operation after hiring a forensic firm. As a result of the intrusion, the CISO was terminated. The CEO and CFO are hiring you to be the new company CISO.

They have asked you to create a 90-day plan for the company that will address the issues of the breach and will implement a comprehensive security program. The CEO and CFO want a five (5) to ten (10) minute presentation of your plan that will be at the quarterly company board meeting. You must be able to submit your security program to the board-of-directors before the meeting.

At a minimum your security plan should cover recommendation regarding corrective measures and activities that will improve the company (you may make assumptions regarding the cause of the breach and the weaknesses of the organization, but, you must explain those assumptions):

  1. Create a 90 day plan (suggest use of a timeline) that includes the following components:
    1. Reference at least 3 CIS controls and the reason you need the control, how you would use the control and what the expected benefit will be to implement them and mitigate the weakness you identify (3 pages; one page per control maximum).
    2. Identify 3 Risks that might impact the company and your proposed mitigation plan (what are the 3 risks and what will happen to the company if they are not mitigated; remember they may not mitigated completely). (1 -2 pages maximum)
    3. Compose a Security Blueprint that contains at least 3 areas that you will be addressing. (any format you choose)
    4. Describe at least two security education or awareness actions you would implement and what they would contain. (1-2 pages)
  2. Prepare a 5 minute presentation to be presented in addition to the written document.

Create a class called ”Illegal Roman Numeral Exception” that extends ”Illegal Argument Exception” as shown in lecture.

Use a GUI to open the file for displaying the Roman numerals

Modify your Roman Numeral GUI so that it will be a complete JFrame with a menu bar and menus.
There should be two menus: one called File and another called Convert. The File menu should have the menu items Open and Quit. The Convert menu should have one menu item that says “Roman to Arabic”. When chosen, a dialog box should be displayed asking the user to type in a Roman numeral. After receiving the Roman numeral, another dialog box should display the Arabic value. If the Roman numeral is not valid (see below) a dialog box should say so.

You will need a handler for the File menu, and another handler for the Convert menu. As mentioned in lecture, be sure when opening a file with the file menu handler that your ask for the absolute path to the file rather than just its file name (getAbsolutePath() rather than getName()).

Create an exception for illegal Roman numerals
Create a class calledIllegal Roman Numeral Exception” that extendsIllegal Argument Exception” as shown in lecture. This exception should be thrown by the constructor of a ”Roman Numeral” if there is an invalid the console, not placed in the GUI. This exception may be thrown when constructing a Roman numeral read from the file, or when trying to convert from Roman to Arabic.

Read in the training data, construct an ANN, train the network, and then evaluate it on the testing data.

Task – Feed forward Neural Networks

You will implement a feedforward artificial neural network (ANN) within Python (using Keras) for the purposes of solving a binary classification task as a mini-research project. For this network, you will be provided a dataset from the finance sector. A description of the dataset is provided in the Data Fields section of this document below.

You are expected to appropriately read in the training data, construct an ANN, train the network, and then evaluate it on the testing data.

For this you should consider aspects of the network architecture, such as how many hidden layers and nodes are required, for an ‘optimal’ solution. When constructing your network you should only consider changing this parameter, leaving others stationary, and the solver as ‘SGD’. Largely the data has already been transformed ready for the task; however, you should consider how many inputs you wish to provide to the network, both feature-wise, and number of examples.

Alongside the Python code, you will write a small report (1500 words maximum) with references (Harvard style) outlining your solution, the architecture chosen, any processing of the dataset, as well as evaluative results. For the purposes of this report, you should carefully consider experimental design, showing comparisons between various different architectures you’ve tried, using evaluative metrics to demonstrate an overall good solution to the task.

Describe the entrepreneur and the business Why did they start the business? What made them think the business would be feasible / successful? What personal tradeoffs did the entrepreneur have to make to start the business?

Entrepreneurship

The best way to learn about entrepreneurship is to learn from the experiences of people who have started businesses.

Your assignment is to interview an entrepreneur who has either succeeded or failed and find out the key lessons their experience can teach you.

You should select an entrepreneur who started a business and obtained some form of outside financing (not self-financed / bootstrapped). Ideally, you select an entrepreneur that grew the business to at least $500k in annual revenue. You may interview Georgia Tech alumni, but students and direct family members are not permitted.

You will prepare an article from your interview for upload. Use what you have learned in this class as a framework for perspectives and insights – and focus on the early years of the business. You will be graded on the quality of the article, insights, and key learnings. Some of the questions you’ll be looking to answer in your interview and blog might include:

  • Describe the entrepreneur and the business
  • Why did they start the business?
  • What made them think the business would be feasible / successful?
  • What personal tradeoffs did the entrepreneur have to make to start the business?
  • How was the business financed?
  • Describe the growth and scale of the business
  • What were the biggest obstacles the entrepreneur faced?
  • What was the outcome? What were the key factors for success or failure?
  • What would they have done differently?
  • Describe the key lessons you learned in the interview

Select one (1) technology that is either currently in use or is in development to be used that can positively impact a firm’s supply chain management and operations. Research the capabilities and impacts of this technology and write a 2–3-page white paper.

Supply chain management and operations

Question 1.

Technology is an important enabler of a company’s ability to manage its supply chain and optimize performance.

Select one (1) technology that is either currently in use or is in development to be used that can positively impact a firm’s supply chain management and operations. Research the capabilities and impacts of this technology and write a 2–3-page white paper that:

  • Provides an overview of the technology.
  • Describes a key issue/opportunity in Supply Chain Management that can be addressed using this technology.
  • Describes how the use of this technology addresses that issue/opportunity.
  • Provides a compelling reason why a Supply Chain Manager should take advantage of this opportunity.

Note: Assume the White Paper is going to be read by busy Supply Chain Managers. These busy managers (like some professors) are not looking for lots of words and filler – they want to know all the critical facts and ideas presented in a clear, readable, and compelling manner.

Question 2.

4-page summary/explanation/discussion of the supply chain and related U.S. Port issues. You must use at least three references.
