Compare the different processes of pharmacokinetics and the factors that influence each one. Briefly explain pharmacodynamics and provide an example.

Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics

How the body processes medication and the drugs’ effect on the body are two basic categories of pharmacology. Altering these processes can have an effect on how well a medication performs its therapeutic job.

For this discussion board: compare the different processes of pharmacokinetics and the factors that influence each one. Briefly explain pharmacodynamics and provide an example.

Have you ever wanted a “do-over?” Write an illustration essay about a time or event that you wished you could go back to in order to do something(s) differently.

Explain in your own words the concepts of either the White Savior Complex or White Fragility. Describe if you have other encountered or observed either of these concepts before.

Discussion

In this post, you will choose one of the following brief articles to read: Either Teju Cole’s “The White Savior Complex” (click here to read: The White Savior Industrial Complex) Or a review of the book White Fragility (click here to read: Review of the Book White Fragility.

Next, you should do the following:

1) Explain in your own words the concepts of either the White Savior Complex or White Fragility.

2) Describe if you have other encountered or observed either of these concepts before.

3 )Find two moments in The White Card that illustrate the concept you read about. Be sure to include page numbers.

4) Explain how effectively Claudia Rankine has used these concepts. Does her depiction align accurately with what you have read?

Speech about the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, or the development of the computer. Speech about beef production in the United States, or the degrees available on the different campuses of MDC.

Group Review Outline for Gender Equality

Once the research has been gathered, the single most important aspect of speech preparation is the organization of the speech. A formal outline helps to provide the organization and structure necessary for a good presentation. To that end, this assignment requires the submission of a formal (full-sentence) outline. Use the format provided on the last page of this document as a guide. Notice the Internal Summaries, which are complete sentences between the main points in the body of the speech that quickly repeat the previous main point and forecast the next main point. Such repetition is necessary in an oral presentation to make the main points more understandable and memorable. Also notice how the researched information is incorporated and cited within the body of the outline. The citation of the work that belongs to another is a legal and moral responsibility of every author. Keep in mind, that from the very first rough draft, through reviews, practice and final version, the outline should be considered a ‘work in progress.’ The format for the introduction and conclusion of the speech should be followed closely. The information in the body of the speech should be organized according to one of the six organizational patterns.

A. Topical—the information is presented according to the author’s preference since the information itself does not suggest any particular organization; for example a speech about the advantages of stem cell research, or the main tourist attractions in Florida.

B. Chronological—time order; for example a speech about the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, or the development of the computer.

C. Spatial—space order or by location;, for example a speech about beef production in the United States, or the degrees available on the different campuses of MDC.

D. Problem/Solution—identification of a harm or difficulty and the presentation of a resolution; a speech about the teen driving accidents solved by raising the driving licensing age, or high gas problems solved by opening oil reserves.

E. Cause/Effect—identification of a particular situation and its direct outcome; for example smoking causes cancer, or stronger reading skills results in higher grades throughout the curriculum.

F. Compare/Contrast—identification of similarities and/or differences between two things; for example the differences between democracy and socialism, or the differences and similarities of the apple and android operating systems.

Give a brief description of the purpose of your report. Define the question your report is trying to answer. Explain when using linear regression is most appropriate. When using linear regression, what would you expect the scatterplot to look like?

Real Estate Data

Overview: The purpose of this project is to have you complete all of the steps of a real-world linear regression research project starting with developing a research question, then completing a comprehensive statistical analysis, and ending with summarizing your research conclusions.

Directions: Using the Project One Template located in the What to Submit section, generate a report including your tables and graphs to determine if the square footage of a house is a good indicator for what the listing price should be. Reference the National Statistics and Graphs document for national comparisons and the Real Estate Data spreadsheet (both found in the Supporting Materials section) for your statistical analysis.

Note: Present your data in a clearly labeled table and using clearly labeled graphs.

Specifically, include the following in your report:

Introduction Describe the report: Give a brief description of the purpose of your report. Define the question your report is trying to answer. Explain when using linear regression is most appropriate. When using linear regression, what would you expect the scatterplot to look like? Explain the difference between response and predictor variables in a linear regression to justify the selection of variables.

Data Collection Sampling the data: Select a random sample of 50 houses. Identify your response and predictor variables.

Scatterplot: Create a scatterplot of your response and predictor variables to ensure they are appropriate for developing a linear model.

Data Analysis Histogram: For your two variables, create histograms.

Summary statistics: For your two variables, create a table to show the mean, median, and standard deviation.

Interpret the graphs and statistics: Based on your graphs and sample statistics, interpret the center, spread, shape, and any unusual characteristic (outliers, gaps, etc.) for the two variables. Compare and contrast the shape, center, spread, and any unusual characteristic for your sample of house sales with the national population. Is your sample representative of national housing market sales?

Develop Your Regression Model Scatterplot: Provide a graph of the scatterplot of the data with a line of best fit. Explain if a regression model is appropriate to develop based on your scatterplot.

Discuss associations: Based on the scatterplot, discuss the association (direction, strength, form) in the context of your model. Identify any possible outliers or influential points and discuss their effect on the correlation. Discuss keeping or removing outlier data points and what impact your decision would have on your model.

Find r: Find the correlation coefficient (r). Explain how the r value you calculated supports what you noticed in your scatterplot. Determine the Line of Best Fit. Clearly define your variables. Find and interpret the regression equation. Assess the strength of the model.

Regression equation: Write the regression equation (i.e., line of best fit) and clearly define your variables.

Interpret regression equation: Interpret the slope and intercept in context.

Strength of the equation: Provide and interpret R-squared. Determine the strength of the linear regression equation you developed.

Use regression equation to make predictions: Use your regression equation to predict how much you should list your home for based on the square footage of your home.

Conclusions Summarize findings: In one paragraph, summarize your findings in clear and concise plain language for the CEO to understand. Summarize your results. Did you see the results you expected, or was anything different from your expectations or experiences? What changes could support different results, or help to solve a different problem? Provide at least one question that would be interesting for follow-up research.

How are they formed into objects, in the past and now? What labor and fuels are necessary? What can be made from the material? When the finished object is used, how might it become broken or no longer wanted in that form?

Waste

In class we have looked at a variety of materials from the perspective of their cost in byproducts and waste, both in the manufacture of goods and in disposal post-use. Choose a topic from the list below and write a 1500-word paper investigating the true cost of using this material. Start with the first development – how old is the technology and where does it appear first? Then investigate the raw components, how they are procured and transported. How are they formed into objects, in the past and now? What labor and fuels are necessary? What can be made from the material? When the finished object is used, how might it become broken or no longer wanted in that form? How has it been disposed of in the past and now, or could it be melted down or otherwise reused? The goal is to look at an object/commodity and see its entire life cycle. Is it part of a repeating cycle, or does it end in a dump? Are there high costs in waste/by-products, and is there anything being done today to address that problem? Should we keep using it, or move on? Choose from the following list: Glass Metal (either Iron, Copper, Lead)
