Introduction approx 600 words

In this section will be evaluated based on:

-How appropriate you describe the purpose and importance of the study to your client in a language fit for layperson and professional settings, made clear:

-Relevant concepts and theoretical frameworks.

-The overall coherence and clarity of your report.

– Elaborate on which variable in the data set was nominal ordinal and ratio.

The tables of statistics need to be edited, in its current form, it is copied directly from SPSS.

All tables or figures need to be given a title and figure/table number. The author provides some inferential statistic that include the use of ANOVA and regression models. Can the author provide some context in the in the introduction and in the methods section to complement these results? What sort of narrative is the report trying to achieve with these statistics? The essence of this report is to derive meanings from the numbers.

Develop a list of two precipitating factors or events for each of three elements of the model (bio, psycho, and social) in explaining the onset of anxiety. Explain how they relate to the three elements.

Week 2 Discussion Boards.

The biopsychosocial model of mental illness suggests that symptoms tend to develop in response to a combination of biological factors, social stressors and psychological stressors. Develop a list of two precipitating factors or events for each of three elements of the model (bio, psycho, and social) in explaining the onset of anxiety. Be sure to explain how they relate to the three elements. Next, comment on at least two of your peers’ lists with a prediction for when one of their precipitating events would lead to anxiety attack.

Find a video on YouTube or another platform that allows you to observe a child. Next, use any observation technique that you choose to collect data on the child. Write a synopsis with information from your observation. Finally, create a classroom-type of activity that addresses the unique needs of the student you observed. Think about an introduction activity, an individual and/or small group experience, and a closing wrap up. Use research to back up your ideas.

Cover Page-Include your name, course title, and assignment title.

Synopsis-Include a link to the video you used for this project. Give details about what you observed and be specific with regard to the three domains we learned about. Use references throughout this section. Include the tool you used to collect data (checklist, anecdotal record, etc.). Write about the activity plan you will design to meet the needs of the student. Give concrete details. This section should be at least three paragraphs long.

Activity Plan-Include the objective or goal of your activity. Give step-by-step details for each aspect (opening activity, group experiences, closure/wrap up).

Conclusion-Include a conclusion section that allows you to reflect on the entire project. What did you learn? What would you change? Make connections between the course content and your final project. This section should be at least one to three paragraphs long.

Choose three (3) empirical research articles that relate to a topic in human development. What was the major purpose or problem described in the article? List the hypotheses or research questions. What type of sample was used in the research? What types of methods were used?

Article Summaries – Parenting Styles

Name:

Student ID:

Reviewing articles increases student’s ability to read, understand, and critique primary literature. In psychology, the primary literature consists mostly of empirical journal articles. These articles report the results of research studies.

APA format makes it easy to identify whether an article is empirical. Typically, an empirical research article has all of the following: Abstract, Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion, and References section. Your goal in this assignment is to read closely enough to have a general understanding of the articles. You will form your own assessment of the research, general findings, limitations, and relevance of your topic.

Directions: Choose three (3) empirical research articles that relate to a topic in human development. The articles should be published in a psychology related journal. Again, the articles should contain most, if not all, of the aforementioned subheadings. A good tip is to enter, “qualitative study” in your search (e.g. the effects of schizophrenia AND qualitative study). Do your best NOT to choose paper’s labeled as meta-analysis, literature review, or theoretical paper. Instead, make sure the articles contain the sections listed above (Abstract, Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion, and References section.)

For each article you have selected, answer ALL of the following questions found in the Article Summaries Template. Make sure that your answers are complete, well written, and in your own words. It is recommended that you read the article and then complete the assignment from your recollection. Be sure to limit the use of direct quotes. You may review the document Summarizing a Research Article for additional tips.

Your article summaries should be uploaded to the Turn it in Dropbox.
