Examine your figure or character from the perspective of Jung’s theoretical approach to personality and describe your chosen figure or character based on the dichotomous facets of personality as defined by Jung. Examine your figure or character from the perspective of Jung’s theoretical approach to personality and describe your chosen figure or character based on the dichotomous facets of personality as defined by Jung.
Evaluate the current Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality instrument, which is based on Jung’s theories, and provide your impression of your chosen figure or character through the major facets of the MBTI.
Analyze how ethical issues might affect the implementation of MBTI personality assessment in the setting native to your chosen figure or character.
Assess the MBTI and its use to provide results on your chosen figure or character and describe the efficacy and reliability of this assessment as it relates to your chosen person.
Summarize and present your opinion about how well this theory describes the person in question. Provide research to support your claims.

Explain three potential problems with the literature that you have found (and why they are problematic). Keep in mind that the conclusion of a paper (i.e. supporting or undermining your approach) is not the focus here. Rather, what in the design, execution or interpretation of the studies might be problematic for accepting the findings? Explain why this is the case. Small sample sizes (while possibly problematic) are not interesting from a methodological or theoretical viewpoint and should not be used as one of the discussed problems.

ACP1718 Series 2 Assignment –

Application (group, <300 words):
This text should be written together with your presentation group. Briefly describe what your approach was (e.g. the use of daily exercise in improving memory performance in middle school children) and why. Briefly describe what evidence should be required from the literature to support your approach for memory enhancement (e.g. finding a link between exercise and hormones supporting memory formation, or link between obesity and memory decline etc.). Keep in mind that the approach should always be a type of intervention / training.

Evidence (group, <300 words):
Explain, based on the conclusions of your selected 3-4 papers, whether the literature currently supports your proposed approach for memory enhancement and why / why not. For this part you do not yet have to take into account potential problems with the studies.

Literature list (group, 3-4 papers):
Find empirical research articles, specifically intervention/training studies (not reviews or meta- analyses) that help to provide evidence (for or against) the above suggested application. The articles should not be a part of the required reading material for this course. List the articles here in APA reference list format. Realize that often there will be no one paper that exactly matches your intended approach/application (let alone four), therefore also look for papers that provide circumstantial or convergent evidence. For example, if a working memory training in children is not present in the literature, perhaps it is present for adults, of perhaps a training focused on different cognitive skills is present for children. While these do not provide the exact evidence you are looking for, they can be very relevant nonetheless. For each of the papers, as group fill in a reading form (see following pages).

Reading forms
Fill in the reading forms below for the 3-4 papers that you have selected (note that the first one is filled in as an example.

Instruction for Presentation (you do not need to write anything here)
During the group presentation you will 1) Briefly explain your intended approach and application2)

What are the responsibilities for reporting child abuse in your state? How might this be different according to the role of the individual educator, lawyer, clergy, physician, caseworker, etc?

Create a worshop on child abuse

For this task, imagine that you have been asked to present a workshop on child abuse prevention and recognition to child service professionals in your area. Your workshop will focus on and include the following areas:

Definitions and types of child abuse and neglect
Impact of child abuse on various aspects of human development.

Who commits child abuse and why? (Include any known gender or socioeconomic factors.)
What are the responsibilities for reporting child abuse in your state?

How might this be different according to the role of the individual educator, lawyer, clergy, physician, caseworker, etc? Suggestions for prevention or early detection

Interactive vignette: Include at least one brief, one-two paragraph vignette surrounding the issue of child abuse. Prepare 2-3 questions you would ask in the workshop, asking the individuals to analyze the event (hint: did abuse take place, if so, what type, who has to report, etc.).

Were the criteria used to select articles for inclusion predetermined, clearly stated, and appropriate? Was the methodological quality of each study assessed using predetermined criteria appropriate to the type of study?

Systematic review and meta-analysis

CRITIQUE Associations between minority stress, depression, and suicidal ideation and attempts in transgender and gender diverse (TGD) individuals: Systematic review and meta-analysis

When critiquing your meta-analysis, Answer the following questions:

What question did the systematic review address?

The main question should be clear and focused. It should describe the population, intervention/exposure, and outcomes of interest.

Is it likely that all relevant studies (published and unpublished) were identified?

Look for a comprehensive search for studies in relevant bibliographic databases (e.g. MEDLINE, Cochrane, EMBASE); a search of reference lists from relevant studies; contact with experts; search for unpublished studies. The search should not be limited to English language only. The search strategy should include both controlled vocabulary terms (e.g. MeSH) and text words.

Were the criteria used to select articles for inclusion predetermined, clearly stated, and appropriate?

The inclusion or exclusion of studies should be a clearly defined a priori. The eligibility criteria should specify the patients, interventions or exposures, outcomes of interest, and study designs.

Were the included studies sufficiently valid?

Was the methodological quality of each study assessed using predetermined criteria appropriate to the type of study (e.g. randomization, allocation concealment, and follow-up for randomized controlled trials)

Were studies selected and data extracted by 2 or more individuals?

There should be at least 2 independent selectors/extractors and a tie-breaking procedure for disagreements.

Were the results similar from study to study?

Ideally, the results of the included studies should be similar (homogeneous). If heterogeneity exists, the authors may estimate whether the differences are significant (chi-square test). Possible reasons for the heterogeneity should be explored.

Conflict of interest

Sources of support and other potential conflicts should be acknowledged and addressed.

Clinical Importance

8a. What were the results of the review?

(Are the results of all included studies clearly displayed? Are the results similar from study to study?
Is there a clinical bottom line?
If the study results were combined, was it appropriate to do so?)

8b. How precise are the results?

(What is the confidence interval? p-value?)

8c. Did the interpretation of the review’s results accurately reflect the results?
