Your academic essay will include:
• Introduction and definition of the concept of “successful ageing”
• Analysis of what “successful ageing” in your culture means to you with reference to physical, social and psychological theories of ageing
• Analysis of how “successful ageing” is understood in another culture with reference to physical, social and psychological theories of ageing
• Comparison of the similarities and differences in your understanding of “successful ageing” between the two different cultures with reference to physical, social and psychological theories of ageing
• Identification of your personal view on “successful ageing”, and critical reflection on the impact of personal views on what constitutes “successful ageing” for you as a counsellor. (First person can be used to respond to this criterion).
• Evidence of critical analysis and synthesis of all ideas and relevant information.
