You are to then research the psychological concepts found within your 3 chosen chapters and describe some of them in your presentation (minimum 1 concept per chapter). What do these concepts discuss? Who were the important figures related to these concepts? What are the important experiments related to these concepts? Be sure to be specific in your presentation. Ex. If discussing the Learning chapter, I might select Observational Learning as a topic; I would make sure to discuss what modeling is and Albert Bandura’s Bobo Doll Clown Study.

Based on the scenario, evaluate the reliability, validity, and cultural considerations inherent to the personality assessment used and comment on the relevance of these elements within the scenario.

Analyze and describe some of the potential ethical issues which might arise from the use of this personality assessment in the given scenario.

Provide information from your research regarding the use of the personality measure, and assess the value of other possible instruments that could be added to create a more complete assessment of the client in the scenario.

Analyze how ethical issues might affect the implementation of MBTI personality assessment in the setting native to your chosen figure or character.
Assess the MBTI and its use to provide results on your chosen figure or character and describe the efficacy and reliability of this assessment as it relates to your chosen person.

Write a 6-8 page paper discussing the developmental concerns and proposed interventions across four life stages using the case study provided. Use the readings from previous units and at least four academic sources from the L.

Read the Case Study: Carlos Carlos, a 63-year-old divorced male was self-referred to you through his Employee Assistance Program. He presents as a lonely and withdrawn older adult requesting assistance with what he describes as “life issues.” The purpose of this paper is for you to present a developmental conceptualization of a client over four developmental stages that explains individual growth using biological, social, psychosocial, cognitive, and environmental theories. For each of the four developmental stages, you are also asked to present suggestions for interventions that may have changed the developmental trajectory for the client. Include the following in your paper:

Explain the developmental concerns of adolescence using the theories and concepts learned involved in the case provided.

Explain the developmental concerns of young adulthood using the theories and concepts learned involved in the case provided.

Explain the developmental concerns of middle adulthood using the theories and concepts learned involved in the case provided.

Explain the developmental concerns of late adulthood using the theories and concepts learned involved in the case provided.

Design at least two interventions addressing the cognitive, biological, psycho-social, cultural, and environmental concerns at each stage in the case provided.

Discuss which theory of behaviorism is most related to your study and how it is related. Discuss how biological preparedness/innate learning influences the subject’s ability to learn the behavior

Describe each of the five schools of behaviorism; make sure you distinguish each from the other schools of thought.
Next, select one of the following potential studies:

Identify eight-year old Amanda’s dysfunctional behaviors in preschool.
Determine whether LED or fluorescent light changes the students’ science quiz scores in Mr. Johnson’s sixth-grade class.
Identify whether giving her chocolate increases Lauren’s participation in gym class.
Another behavior of your choosing — check first with your instructor.
After selecting your study, be sure to do the following:

Determine the most appropriate methodology (from this unit) with which to study it.
Identify the method and set up an outline of a study; identify any variables.
Explain your rationale for choosing that method.
Discuss which theory of behaviorism is most related to your study and how it is related.
Discuss how biological preparedness/innate learning influences the subject’s ability to learn the behavior.

Describe a fixed reinforcement schedule, a variable reinforcement schedule, a duration schedule, a response rate schedule and a noncontingent reinforcement schedule.

You have 25 new employees and you want them to complete several new-employee onboarding tasks such as selecting a health insurance plan, federal withholding, state withholding, 401K selection, set up direct deposit, etc. You also want them to learn to turn in biweekly reports on time. Several months later, you have noticed that there are many employee absences on the Monday after the bi-weekly payday. Attendance seems to improve the closer it gets to payday.

In your essay, be sure to do the following:

Describe a fixed reinforcement schedule, a variable reinforcement schedule, a duration schedule, a response rate schedule and a noncontingent reinforcement schedule. Explain how each works and describe when you might use each one.
Refer to the case above. Evaluate the best schedule of reinforcement for the initial paperwork and to get employees to turn in biweekly reports on time. Apply the schedule, explaining specifically how and when you would reinforce the employee and provide your rationale.
Discuss what seems to be happening with the employee absences (explain in terms of operant conditioning) and why you think it’s happening.
Refer to the case above. Evaluate the best schedule of reinforcement to improve attendance. Apply the schedule, explaining specifically how and when you would reinforce the employee and provide your rationale.
Explain how you would work to generalize the attendance behavior across time.

Is Jill’s behavior ethical? Why? Use the relevant section of the American Counseling Association Code of Ethics to justify your response.

Consider the following scenario: Jill is conducting an experiment on the effects of story themes—traditional versus nontraditional—on memory for story details. She is paying participants $5 to complete a research protocol that takes about 40 minutes. Prior to beginning the protocol, participants sign a consent form. Jill is present during this time to answer questions and clarify areas of concern. One participant, Sarah, reads the consent form, agrees to participate, and begins the protocol. After about 12 minutes, she gets up and tells Jill that she has to go. She says she is sorry but she cannot complete the protocol. Jill offers her an additional $10 to stay in the study and complete the required tasks.
