Large companies have been using the power of business analytics for quite a while now. Your company desires to get in on the action; company executives believe that using advanced data analysis will enable the company to make smarter decisions and improve business performance. Business analytics gives companies the ability to look at past realizations and performance as well as set up new expectations and performance goals. Analytics-as-a-Service is a new delivery model that uses cloud technology to provide business insights without enormous infrastructure enhancements. The executive team has heard great things about analytics and cloud technology but is apprehensive because they are unfamiliar with the look and feel of the technology. The executive team is interested in your recommendations and eagerly awaiting your forward-thinking viewpoint.

Why has President Trump changed US immigration enforcement?

Immigration Reform: How has Donald Trump Changed US Immigration Enforcement?

Name: Laquita Rose

Course: Composition English 102B

Professor: Dr. Clinkenbeard

Re: Research Topic Proposal

  1. Introduction

Immigration enforcement is being changed by President Donald Trump is the topic of discussion. By understanding how the change is being accomplished, the proposal considers detrimental laws against immigrants that the president has imposed which impacted the economic growth of the United States. As such, detrimental laws by the president have negative impacts on minority groups, the American dream, and the Canadian surge of immigrants.

  1. Exploration of Trump Immigration Enforcement Impacts
  2. Assessment of Minority Groups

Executive orders by the President started with the building of the Mexican wall. The problem with this order is that it keeps most of the people that support the US economy by providing their labor out of the country. Nations in The Middle East such as Syria have received travel bans among other Islamic nations. The controversy with the ban is that it is racist, an agenda that is forcing students, researchers, and workers among others to search for opportunities elsewhere.

A 21-year old cinematographer nominated for the Oscars was barred from entering the US because of his home country.

  1. Evaluation of the Enforcement Impact on the American Dream

This case of the cinematographer shows how the president is using the immigration enforcement laws to keep people out of America because of their ethnicity. The American dream gives hope to individuals that seek a better environment to be in but when the dream is a nightmare then it becomes less attractive. The problem here is false impressions whereby natives are made to believe an increase in immigrants results in loss or limited jobs for them. This pushes the debate of whether such enforcements help foster the relationship between the US and other nations.

Immigrant owned jobs also create employment opportunities in the United States thus part of the American economy that should continuously promote the American dream.

  1. Determination of Impact on Canada

The increased population in Canada of immigrants has not been overlooked. When the president decided to order the deportation of immigrant students due to the pandemic, most students filled complaints including universities such as Harvard. The problem with this change in direction is that US schools are becoming less prestigious and sought after when immigrants contribute billions to the US economy annually. Debatably herein is the fact that not all Americans believe in what the president is pushing for.

Radical actions against immigrants may feel less secure but ramp up repression to a whole new level.

  1. Revised Research Question

Why has President Trump changed US immigration enforcement? Researching this question is important in getting a clear direction prevalent in the US when it comes to racism. It also looks at vulnerable groups and how ignorance creates and spreads distaste for immigrants leading to xenophobia and Islam phobia. The racial rhetoric will provide numerous ways on how to understand what playing by the rules implies.

  1. Research Plan

The question will be answered by conducting thorough research of news journals. Comparison between the orders and their impact will also be made to form a basis for debate and refuting controversies.

What barriers or obstacles did the Spotlight team have to surmount or overcome to report the story?

Spotlight Film Reflection Prompts

Film is on Netflix

Following the film, write a response that addresses how the events portrayed in the movie connect with what we’ve discussed in class, your own efforts at producing journalism and what you’ve read in the textbooks. Here are some prompts that can get you thinking in the right direction:

  • What role does “serving the public” play in the efforts of the Spotlight reporting team?
  • What barriers or obstacles did the Spotlight team have to surmount or overcome to report the story? How do these plot points illustrate what we know about how journalism ought to be produced?
  • How do you feel the film portrays the role of the press in a democracy?
  • What ethical or legal issues do you recognize from the readings in the pursuit of this story?
  • How do you feel the depiction of “the media” in the film compares or contrasts with your impression of “the media” in real life?
  • How did the Spotlight team demonstrate the concept of “discipline of verification” and the importance of confirming information through dogged reporting? How do they “prove” their findings? Why is this important?
  • A conflict arises at the newspaper concerning whether it is time to run the story or more time is needed to address it at an institutional level. How does this play out? Do you agree with how it was handled?
  • What most surprised you about the movie? What resonated with you? What didn’t you like?
  • Do you see any similarities between the reporting process as it’s depicted in the film and your own efforts to report stories?
  • What about the film resonates with you as someone who has begun to practice journalism during this semester?

Your response does not need to address each of these questions, but should sufficiently explore the key points of the film as they relate to the practice and process of journalism. A fully formed response should be roughly 750-1,250 words. Please include the word count on your submitted response.

This assignment must be completed in strict, current APA format and include a cover page, reference page, and be double-spaced throughout.

Part 1 Short Essay – The first step to gathering information for this project is to review the information found on , a Focus on the Family website. Take some time to reflect upon the reading and give your thoughts concerning a Christian worldview in a short essay. Consider asking yourself how important is a Christian worldview? Is it a main factor in running a nonprofit organization? What are some potential positive or negative effects of basing nonprofit management on a Christian worldview? Part 1 must be a minimum of 1–2 full pages.

Part 2 – Select 10 organizations from and then write a 250-word description for each of the selected organizations. Also, explain how these organizations demonstrate the 6 characteristics defined in chapter 3 of the Worth text. You will need to select at least two Christian organizations, and reflectively answer these questions: From what you have read about Christian worldviews, does it seem obvious that the organization is based upon Christian principles? Are there any distinctive marks of Christianity in the vision, mission, purpose, and goals of the organization? Part 2 must be a minimum of 5–6 full pages.

Part 3 – Select one of the 10 organizations in Part 2 to perform an in-depth evaluation/assessment of 1 organization. Identify the vision, mission, and purpose of this organization.
