Provide an example of an invasive species found in the biome/ecosystem. What are some of the negative impacts this invasive species has on the ecosystem? What is being done to mitigate impacts?
/in SCIENCE /by SamBIO-220 Environmental science
Pick a biome and ecosystem and create a 500-700 word essay addressing the following:
- Refer to the infographic provided and chose a biome to describe with an example ecosystem.
- Provide one example of a keystone species found in the biome/ecosystem. Why is this keystone species important to the biome/ecosystem? What defines it as a keystone species?
- Provide an example of an invasive species found in the biome/ecosystem. What are some of the negative impacts this invasive species has on the ecosystem? What is being done to mitigate impacts?
- Provide one example of an endangered species found in the biome/ecosystem. Briefly discuss the causes of the decline in the species and what is being done to help.
Refer to the “Biomes and Ecosystems” infographic located in the topic Resources. Also include at least 3 academic sources and make sure all sources are cited in your essay.
Given the temps at 34,00ft over ATL, would you expect to encounter icing conditions at that altitude? What are the winds at 6,000ft over MIA?

- What are the winds at 6,000ft over MIA? (2pts)
- Using the temperatures where would you expect the freezing level to be over ATL? (Use a standard lapse rate for your calculations and be exact. For example, if it is 5°C at 12,000ft and -5°C at 18,000ft give me your freezing level at 15,000ft.) (3pts)
- What is the environmental lapse rate between 3,000ft and 12,000ft over ATL? What information is this giving you (think about the slide that has the differing lapse rates)? Be specific. “Stable” or “Unstable” will result in a complete deduction of points? (4pts)

Assessment 1 – Professional Plan: Details & Templates
Overview Task description
Assessment task 1 requires you to plan for and implement an individual micro-teaching episode, collegial feedback, based on a lesson/leaming expenence plan that will be presented face to face in tutonals for internal students and online via a zoom recording for cane students. The focus of this assessment will be on a science topic and year level of your choice.
This is an authentic assessment because it will assess your
- Knowledge of content and curriculum document(s) for your chosen science topic and year level
- Application of an inquiry pedagogically based early year’s science learning episode
- written professional communication in the area of lesson/learning expenence planning and providing feedback.
How can you help this couple if they experience a negative outcome in the birthing suite? What are your personal views on terminating or continuing a pregnancy with a risk of a potential anomaly? What factors may influence your views?

Case Study Module 8
Instructions: Read the following case study and answer the reflective questions. Provide evidence–based rationales for your answers. APA, 7th ed. must be followed.
CASE STUDY: Active Labor: Susan Wong
Mrs. Wong, a first–time mother, is admitted to the birthing suite in early labor after spontaneous rupture of membranes at home. She is at 38 weeks of gestation with a history of abnormal alpha–fetoprotein levels at 16 weeks of pregnancy.
She was scheduled for ultrasonography to visualize the fetus to rule out an open spinal defect or Down syndrome, but never followed through. Mrs. Wong and her husband disagreed about what to do (keep or terminate the pregnancy) if the ultrasonography indicated a spinal problem, so they felt they did not want this information.
Reflective Questions
1. As the nurse, what priority data would you collect from this couple to help define relevant interventions to meet their needs?
2. How can you help this couple if they experience a negative outcome in the birthing suite? What are your personal views on terminating or continuing a pregnancy with a risk of a potential anomaly? What factors may influence your views?
3. With the influence of the recent Human Genome Project and the possibility of predicting open spinal defects earlier in pregnancy, how will maternity care change in the future?
