From a mainstream (legit) news organization (a TV news website, newspaper, magazine, etc. but NOT a blog), locate a recent (within the last calendar year) article that discusses an empirical study (i.e., research) relevant to social work and conducted in the United States. The article MUST report and discuss research findings/data.

1. What is the main purpose of the article? (i.e., what is the study asking about or seeking to learn about human behavior?)
2. What is the main question being addressed (i.e., does the article contain the research question or hypothesis examined by the study?)
3. What type of research methods were used (survey, interviews, observation)?
4. What are the main inferences or conclusions of the study reported in the article (i.e., what do the findings say or imply about human behavior and the impact of social environment?)
5. How might the study findings impact social work practice (i.e., how might the findings inform how social workers should interact with clients from a particular social group or population?)

What are your thoughts on gender neutrality? How does it feel to be addressed as a “delegate’ rather than “gentleman” or “gentlewomen?”

This will be a Sociology research paper on all things about gender neutrality.

Republicans have abruptly taken the decision to stop using gendered language in the Virginia House of Delegates- so they don’t have to refer to groundbreaking Trans-politician Danica Roem as a woman.

Under the changes, politicians speaking on the floor of the House will no longer have to refer to each other as ‘Gentleman’ or ‘Gentlewoman’ and will instead use the term ‘Delegate’ as a gender-neutral address.

What is gender neutrality? Define the term.

Write a 4 to 5 paper about the social forces that shaped their life chances.

Chose a person from the secondary text that you read, or a famous person or a fictional character. Write a 4 to 5 paper about the social forces that shaped their life chances. This should be a “snapshot” of their current life status and the factors that created their current SES and class in society.

Use the author’s example of his own life journey on pages 5 to 8 in the main text. Begin with the person’s grandparents, or farther back if possible and trace the family history.

Relate your thinking to 5 or 6 concepts from the main text. Underline the concepts used. (Inter generational mobility, social inequality, glass ceiling, differential socialization, feminization)

Write the paper in APA style. Use left aligned headings to organize the paper. The headings can be organized by the person’s life course stages, or by concepts from the text that apply to the person’s life. All headings should be in bold print. Some possible examples of headings are listed below — but feel free to be more creative:
