Write a 3-page paper defending God’s eternal self-existence.

Gods Eternal self existence

God is incomprehensible (Job 5:8-9; Ps. 145:1-3; Isa. 40:28) and cannot be known fully by finite minds. However, God can be truly known. In a serious attempt to know God, perhaps His attributes of eternality and self-existence center the attention on describing God as separate from all others. Self-existence means God is the only Being whose origin did not derive outside of Himself (Exod. 3:14). Eternality means God transcends and is not bound by time with no temporal limitations upon Him (Ps. 90:2, 4; Heb. 1:2; 11:3).

Liberation Through a Womanist Lens: Exploring the Contributions of Womanist Theology to Black Women’s Empowerment’

Discuss connections between womanist theology and liberation for Black women. Below is an intro paragraph to give a general idea of what to write about in the paper.

Womanist theology is a branch of theology that focuses on the experiences and perspectives of Black women. It emerged in the 1980s as a response to the exclusion of Black women's voices in mainstream feminist and Black liberation theology. Womanist theology seeks to recognize and uplift the unique experiences of Black women, as well as challenge systems of oppression that disproportionately impact them. It incorporates elements of African spiritual traditions and Black feminist thought, and centers the voices and experiences of Black women in its analysis of the Bible and other religious texts. Womanist theologians seek to create a more inclusive and empowering theology that truly reflects the experiences of Black women.

Consider the different possibilities and Christian responses in this chapter, and defend, in your initial post, a possible way to deal with minor drug offenses that might be more effective than jail terms.

Discussion: Crime and Punishment

Discussion Assignment Instructions

Read McQuilin and Copan’s An Introduction to Biblical Ethics: Walking in the Way of Wisdom Chapters 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25

Read Confronting Christianity: 12 Hard Questions for the World’s Largest Religion, Chapters 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12

Post one thread of 400 words in response to the prompt listed below and you must support your assertions with 2 scholarly citations in Turabian format. Any sources cited must have been published within the last five years. Acceptable sources include the textbook, the Bible, etc.

PROMPT

In the chapter “Crime and Punishment” (429-443 in McQuilken and Copan), various alternatives to prison are presented, and a short section deals with “Christian Responsibility for Criminal Justice.” Consider the ideas presented in these sections specifically in light of the USA’s continuing battle with illegal drug use. (In light of this, also be aware that Michelle Alexander, in The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in an Age of Colorblindness [The New Press, 2012], has pointed out that millions of young men are in prison today for minor drug possession offenses or small crimes). Consider the different possibilities and Christian responses in this chapter, and defend, in your initial post, a possible way to deal with minor drug offenses that might be more effective than jail terms. You may want to do some internet searching on the matter as well–and if so, include the sources at the bottom of your initial thread.
