Briefly introduce the company you have chosen as your case study using a variety of data coming from a range of sources that need to be clearly and accurately cited and referenced in your assignment.

Choose a company and three topics

Essay (2400 words – you can use appendices but no 10% leeway allowed)
Choose three topics covered in the module (e.g. perception, teamwork, culture, misbehaviour/ resistance, leadership, change, motivation). Critically review academic sources on your chosen topics and identify relevant theories, concepts and findings from available academic research which you will later use to analyse your chosen company.
You can decide to use one or two topics as your main focus, and supplement them with sources on the third topic, or devote an equal amount of space to each of the topics.
Analyse a company of your choice (so your case study company) using the relevant theories, concepts and findings from your review of the academic research. Draw conclusions from your analysis or give relevant, well supported, practical and future-oriented recommendations for the chosen company.
The assignment should consist of two parts:

Part 1. Review of relevant academic sources
Briefly introduce your focus.
Critically review relevant academic sources on the selected three topics. Focus on sources which will help you in the analysis of your chosen case study company.

Part 2. Case study analysis and conclusions/ recommendations
i. Briefly introduce the company you have chosen as your case study using a variety of data coming from a range of sources that need to be clearly and accurately cited and referenced in your assignment (approximately 100 words)

ii. Analyse the company you have chosen as your case study using the academic sources you reviewed in Part 1. Your case study data should also be clearly cited here and come from a range of sources. (approximately 900 words)

iii. Based on your analysis, provide relevant conclusions and well supported, practical and future-orientated recommendations for the chosen company. (approximately 300 words)

When did they first get started? Who has access to Delivery apps? Where can you get these apps? Why are they so popular? Why are they good?

Food delivery services and contemporary issues.

Part 1 :
Background on Delivery apps (Focus on UberEats, SkipTheDishes and Doordash) . (How many are there in the world? Canada? USA?)
When did they first get started? (Who made them? Why do we need them?)
Who has access to Delivery apps? (Everyone except if you are out of range for restaurants, such as you live on a farm example)
Where can you get these apps? (Download them easily and free on the app store)
Why are they so popular? (Is it Because people are lazy and they want food now immediately?)
Why are they good? Marketing for restaurants near you. Discover restaurants you’ve never been to before?
Any issues with delivery of food is held with the third party app not directly with the restaurant
Contemporary issue in management?

Part 2:
Impact of Covid-19 and how that has helped the Food Delivery industry
Provide graphs and documents and details. APA style if sources added.
Spending more for the sake of convenience?-(Is this due to our generation wanting things now!?)

Film Review:

The film review is designed to examine the concepts, issues, and dilemmas related to individuals/families in crisis through the study of contemporary film. Your task is to summarize and critically reflect on how the media portrays films. Each film review report should include: 1) Summary, 2) Application to Individuals/Families in Crisis, and 3) Critical Reflection (the film’s impact on your thoughts, attitudes, beliefs, etc.), as well as connecting to concepts discussed in class/readings. A list of sample films can be found below, and students may select any other film that pertains to individual or family crisis. Students will turn in a 2–3-page paper and prepare a brief 5–10-minute presentation to the class.

→what are your thoughts on how the article dealt with the concept based on our class discussions and your understanding of the concept? (i.e. compare the article’s treatment of the concept to our class discussions). Was it an article that demonstrated the concept clearly? Why or Why not? (don’t give the definition of the concept; what you write will demonstrate your understanding of the concept)

3.Would you recommend this article be read by your classmates? Why or Why not?

Propose a dynamic web application case study that requires the design and development of an online reservation system. Include justification of your case study and the need for a dynamic web application.

Assignment Task


The reservation (or holding) of products online is becoming more and more popular online and represents a new element in a dynamic web application. The process of reserving an online item may differ between different industries, but the overall process tends to be similar. For the purpose of this assignment, we will ask you to keep it simple. The user selects a product or service online, one of several time slots to collect on that specific day and fills their details. On submission, the allocated product or service is removed from the set of options. This scenario is a simplified example that could apply in a variety of options, not least for antique shops, electrical goods shop, vintage clothing shops, collectable toy shops, …etc.

Stage 1: Propose a dynamic web application case study that requires the design and development of an online reservation system. Include justification of your case study and the need for a dynamic web application. (Maximum word count:500)


Stage 2: Plan and design between five to eight web pages for a given website that includes reservation component. Provide recommendations with regards to a markup language, database, scripting (both client side and server side), multimedia components, and layout design. (Maximum word count: 1000) L.O.1. And L.O.2.


Stage 3: Recommend improvements that would enhance the browser compatibility of the website as well as web accessibility to meet the diverse audience. (Maximum word count: 1000) L.O.2.


Stage 4: Implement between five to eight web pages for a given case study using dynamic web development language (ASP, PHP, or JSP). Provide screenshots of the document and code in the appendix Provide a table that shows the testing logs of each page. (Maximum word count: 1500) L.O.3 and L.O.4.


Stage 5: Evaluate the implementation and how you would rate your own application against current accessibility guidelines. Provide logs and testing records to justify any claims. (Maximum word count: 1000) L.O.5.

Case Study Final Paper (100 points)
You will be required to write a short (five-pages, double-spaced, 12 point font, 1 in. margins) paper on the topic you sign up for on the third week of class. Only word or pages documents will be accepted on Blackboard. Pdfs will not be accepted. The paper must include the following sections:

1. Define the health problem [where does it occur, how many people are dealing with it, is it a historical or current problem, what are the health endpoints (i.e., death, disease, etc.)].
2. What are the risk factors?
3. What communities/people are most impacted by this problem?
4. What are three community-level interventions that have been suggested for this problem?
5. Describe one (original) intervention you would design to help fix this problem.
6. How would you monitor whether your intervention was successful? You will also need a reference list with 4 peer reviewed journal articles. If you are unsure whether a source is peer-reviewed, please check with the Health Sciences librarian or with me.
