Explore major publications such as Approach or its USAF equivalent and locate articles about mishaps or near mishaps involving hypoxia. Locate an article exploring incidents of hypoxia on each of the aircraft and provide a brief summary.

Hypoxia, physiology in pilots

This module week you have concentrated on hypoxia. All military aviators/pilots have dedicated training on how to recognize its symptoms in themselves and those they are flying with, yet mishaps and near misses still happen. For this module week’s interactive classroom we are going to discuss three separate aircraft (F/A-18, F-22, & T-45).
Explore major publications such as Approach (Links to an external site.) or its USAF (Links to an external site.) equivalent and locate articles about mishaps or near mishaps involving hypoxia. Locate an article exploring incidents of hypoxia on each of the aircraft (F/A-18, F-22, & T-45) and provide a brief summary.

Based on what you have read and have learned in this module, surmise what was the most likely cause of the mishap/incident in question. Provide sound evidence for your conclusion by supporting it with information from the article and your new found knowledge of altitude physiology.

Altitude Mishap -Physiology

In this case analysis, you will complete a more in-depth analysis of one of the articles you identified in this week’s module readings, Activity 3.1. Based on what you have read and have learned in this module, surmise what was the most likely cause of the mishap/incident in question. Provide sound evidence for your conclusion by supporting it with information from the article (or related articles) and your new found knowledge of altitude physiology.
Your analysis should include the following sections:
Summary of the case
Problem Statement – What is the problem?
Significance of the Problem – Why this is a problem?
Alternative Actions (2) – How could it have been avoided?
Recommendation

Create a brief presentation reviewing the current research on your topic in developmental psychology.

Development Psychology

Select one (1) topic in developmental psychology and write a five (5) page research paper. This means four (4) pages of writing plus a reference page. Create a brief presentation reviewing the current research on your topic. Keep the presentation to five minutes (max).
Organization of the paper:
1. Introduction- Importance of the topic.
2. Three Main Themes that emerge from the research- Include details from the original study and not secondary sources. MUST utilize at least three (3) peer reviewed psychology journal articles. If applicable, compare and contrast research information.
3. Final Paragraph- summarize and synthesize the information presented in your paper.
4. References- Must include a references page referencing all three psychology journal articles in APA style.

Determine what receptors, transporters, or neurotransmitters could be involved and how the drug affects these receptors, transporters, or neurotransmitters.

N3 Case Study

1. Determine what drug the individual in your case has been using and what led you to believe this.

2. Determine what the subjective effects of the drug are (i.e., what has a person reported feeling after using the drug).

3. Determine what receptors, transporters, or neurotransmitters could be involved and how the drug affects these receptors, transporters, or neurotransmitters.

4. Create one PowerPoint slide that describes your findings on this drug.

5. You may use your textbook and at least one more source. List these on your PowerPoint slide

Your friend Jamie has been smoking something in order to lose weight. Jamie tells you that smoking has not only gotten her to stop snacking, but also allows her to concentrate harder when studying, especially for the next Psych exam. At the same time, this drug relaxes her and gives her a sense of calm. She thinks you should try it out, as it might help with your studying and could even help you take off a couple of pounds. However, you notice Jamie has an odor about her constantly, and her teeth and nails seem to be yellowing. What has Jamie been smoking?

“Mini Cases in Psychoactive Drugs and Their Effects on the Brain” by Darlene A. Mitrano

Explains how some research on cross-cultural studies is exploratory, others look at socialization patterns of religiosity, and communication or language.

Leslie Waller

When looking at three major challenges to conducting cross-cultural research there is a lot to know and understand about the methods in which the research was conducted. Van de Vijver (2009) explains how some research on cross-cultural studies is exploratory, others look at socialization patterns of religiosity, and finally communication or language. Do the same or similar words translate across cultures.

Understanding the various types of research designs, quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods are described by Leech & Onwuegbuzie (2009). The various approaches are outlined as quantitative research paradigm was considered research because it was the first research paradigm that incorporated ontological, epistemological, axiological, rhetorical, and methodological assumptions and principles Leech & Onwuegbuzie (2009). A qualitative design was then used when disputing quantitative design. Later mixed methods were used to combine the methods in which to better incorporate all methods and data.

By looking at multiple factors in research as well as looking at research biases it can be seen where cross-cultural research can be challenging. As some research may not be legitimized having a practice for how research is set and a set guideline on standards, would help reduce challenges when doing new research.

What happened in the article? What was the author’s conclusion? Was the author effective?

Annotation Topics Assignment

For this assignment, you are going to find another source for your final paper. Provide the source information and an annotation for the source. Keep in mind you can use what you submit for this assignment on your annotated bibliography. In your response to this assignment, tell me what that topic is, provide an APA reference citation for the source you decide to use, and then write 100 words summarizing the source. What happened in the article? What was the author’s conclusion? Was the author effective?
