Later, they received an appointment as promoters for a new corporation that would manufacture artificial arms. The corporation need a large production facility, and David and Robert sold the warehouse they owned for $800,000 worth of stocks in the new corporation once it was formed.

Later, the corporation was formed and the shareholders discovered just how much David and Robert paid for the facility. How much of the $800,000 in stocks is the new corporation entitled to cancel. Discuss.

Keep in mind that this situation does not have to be a full-blown argument—it can be something as simple as convincing a friend to go to a specific restaurant for lunch—and it does not have to be a situation where you “won” the other person over. Explain what strategies you used for persuading.

Obtain information from various sources (e.g., the environment, the pt., the family, another nurse, EHR) in different formats (e.g., visual observation, audio perception, lab results, text description, etc.). TIME OUT!!!  Do you have an accurate match or are additional data required, or does another cue from abnormal assessment findings need to be investigated?

Assessment:  What are the identified abnormal findings:

How effective do you anticipate the 2015 Paris Agreement (and other future international climate agreements) will be? What international developments might limit its effectiveness?

Globalization: Exam

  • There are 5 short-answer questions (worth 10 points each) and 1 longer essay question (worth 50 points) on this exam.
  • A high scoring answer for the short answer questions will consist of at least 4-5 sentences and demonstrate wide understanding of course material.

1. Snarr & Canfield describe four different scenarios on the future of global governance (world government, regionalism, decentralization/self-reliance, status quo). Which of these do you feel is the most desirable and why?

2. How effective do you anticipate the 2015 Paris Agreement (and other future international climate agreements) will be? What international developments might limit its effectiveness?

3. It is argued that increasing threats from climate change means that low-income countries (LICs) can no longer be allowed to develop via fossil fuels in the way the high-income countries (HICs) have. Consequently, LICs argue that HICs are hypocrites and that they should be allowed to develop as they see fit. Who do you think is right?

4. How has the ‘liberal world order’ as described in the Pei and Micklethwait & Woolridge articles been unsettled by China’s rise?

5. With regards to global public health, preventative measures and the strengthening of health systems (vertical approaches) seem to take a backseat compared to emphasis on big, singular problems such as COVID or Ebola (horizontal approaches). Why do you think this?

Question 1 1 pts
ESSAY QUESTION:
Imagine you are a government policymaker for a low-income country (LIC) and your elected president comes to you for advice. The president knows you are familiar with globalization wants to know what sort of guidance you can provide for the country’s economic and political development. What advice would you give to the president of your country? (This is an imaginary country and you are free to make assumptions about your country’s resources and geographic location).

Your answer should discuss concepts, events and processes discussed in lecture and the readings. A strong essay will directly answer the question and demonstrate a deep and wide knowledge of the course material.
