This week we had two videos to review. Each video showcases a disputed issue related to teachers’ rights.

In Video 1, a San Francisco, California teacher fights to remove a violent student from her room putting her at risk of losing her job as a first-year teacher in the district.

What suggestions would you give to upper management and staff members on steps they can take in becoming cultural allies of both Clients and Staff of Color?

Respond to the following:

Based on the scenario presented, how did institutional racism play a role in some of the cultural issues identified at Agency X?

Learning Styles

The paper will consist of a 1 Page Essay (single space) on the selected topic. The essay will include the Title Page and a Body Page.

No in-text citations in the body of the paper or References Page are needed. Students are encouraged to save an additional electronic copy of your assignments to avoid losing or damaging the final results.

In the body of your paper, each student should incorporate terms from the textbook demonstrating a smooth transition in your writing and maintain professional undertone.

Self-Assessment

Self-awareness is essential for developing leadership skills. Recognizing your own strengths, weaknesses, and values, and understanding emotional intelligence and learning styles can help you to be a more effective nurse leader.

For this assignment, you have the opportunity to take a variety of self-assessments to learn more about yourself and identify your assets and weaknesses as a leader.

Self-Assessment Reflection

Becoming self-aware is an ongoing process requiring introspection. The more often people practice self-reflection, the more opportunities they have to understand their own behaviors and adapt their approaches to working with other people, which can improve both your own and other’s abilities to meet their professional goals.

In a 1,000-1,250 word reflective essay, address the following:

Provide a rationale and brief summary for selecting each self-assessment. Summarize the results you obtained on each assessment.

Identify the leadership style that closely aligns to your philosophy of care and explain what appeals to you about that style.

Reflect on how you might incorporate elements of that particular style as you exercise leadership in a practice or health care organization setting.

Discuss any particular areas for improvement the assessments helped you identify and some steps for improving your leadership capabilities.

Analyze the characteristics of an effective professional nurse leader, or individuals in nursing leadership. Discuss the characteristics and explain why they are effective for leadership in nursing.

Analyze different leadership theories and leadership styles. Select one theory and leadership style, different from your own, and explain how they each support a professional nurse leader or individual in nursing leadership.

Part 2

Using the data you collected and the useful websites compose a scholarly report about Green Marketing:

Compose an introduction and conclusion to your paper.

Write a one-page summary about green labeling, greenwashing, and the information you gathered from your three Green Initiative/Eco Labels.

Incorporate information from the Tsai and Dahl articles (pp. 112 – 122) in the textbook. Do not forget to cite and reference your sources.

You are required to have a minimum of three sources. All sources used must be referenced using APA format. Submit the completed template to the instructor for grading.

Describe the measurement method (specific standardized scale or behavior/thought tracking method) used to evaluate client change.

EVALUATION EMPIRICALLY-BASED SOCIAL WORK PRACTICE
In this paper you will describe the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of your intervention plan with your client.

Your paper, including references, should be double-spaced, APA style. Use the major headings below (Introduction, Implementation and Monitoring, Evaluation, Conclusion).

Your paper will be approximately 8-10 pages long (EXCLUDING title page and reference page, and progress notes).

Introduction

Briefly restate who the client is, what the objective is, and what the planned intervention is.

Describe what source(s) you used as the basis of the specific intervention activities (for example, a treatment manual, an article, a website, a book, an agency protocol) and why you chose this source

Implementation and Monitoring

Maintain regular progress notes (typed) using the handout on the instructor’s website.

Progress notes need to be completed at least once per week. Do not include any client identifying information in the notes. Attach the progress notes to the end of your paper

Based on the progress notes, describe whether the intervention as implemented deviated from the intervention plan (yes or no), and if so, why.

Based on the progress notes, describe the client’s progress over the course of treatment
Evaluation

Describe the measurement method (specific standardized scale or behavior/thought tracking method) used to evaluate client change.

Provide the results of the client’s pretest and posttest.

Critique of Nursing Theories PowerPoint Presentation

Students will apply the following guidelines to the critiques of nursing theory:

1. Introduction

2. Select a grand or broad theory and a mid-range theory of nursing practice.

3. Use the "Guide for the description of Theory" and "Guide for the Critical Reflection of Theory" (Chinn & Kramer, 2018, Chapter 8) to critique the theories selected.

4. Compare and contrast the broad and mid-range theory.

5. Using the broad theory as a framework, describe a client situation and expected outcomes.

6. Outline the process of advanced practice as articulated within the theory selected.

Organizations often use the terms ethics and compliance interchangeably. However, there are some nuances that are different between compliance and ethics.
