Reflect on the differences between the types of diabetes, including type 1, type 2, gestational, and juvenile diabetes.

Diabetes is an endocrine system disorder that affects millions of children and adults (ADA, 2015). If left untreated, diabetic patients are at risk for several alterations, including heart disease, stroke, kidney failure, neuropathy, and blindness. There are various methods for treating diabetes, many of which include some form of drug therapy. The type of diabetes as well as the patient’s behavior factors will affect treatment recommendations. In this assignment, you will compare the different types of diabetes, including drug treatments for type 1, type 2, gestational, and juvenile diabetes.

To prepare:

Review the chapters that discuss diabetes in Woo and Robinson (2015).
Reflect on the differences between the types of diabetes, including type 1, type 2, gestational, and juvenile diabetes.
Select one type of diabetes.
Consider one type of drug used to treat the type of diabetes you selected, including the proper preparation and administration of this drug. Then, reflect on dietary considerations related to treatment.
Think about the short- and long-term effects on patients including the effects of drug treatments for the type of diabetes you selected.
To complete:

Write a minimum 4–page paper (excluding cover page and references) that addresses the following:

Explain the differences between the types of diabetes, including type 1, type 2, gestational, and juvenile diabetes.
Describe one type of drug used to treat the type of diabetes you selected, including the proper preparation and administration of this drug.
Analyze and discuss the dietary considerations related to treatment.
Explain the short- and long-term effects of this type of diabetes on patients including the effects of drug treatments.
Include four or more appropriate scholarly sources from the last five years throughout the paper.

The first 400-600 words of this should be a factual report on what you have observed in following your blog/website. Start off by telling us what your period of observation is, and what you have seen. It’s ok to use bullet points in this.
The rest of the report should consist of your critical observations on what you have seen. This means: analyze what you’ve observed by asking questions like this:

How are gender roles and ideas about gender structured and shown in what you’ve observed?

How is sexuality portrayed in what you’ve observed?

What assumptions are made and shown about the relationship between sex and gender, and/or sex and sexuality in what you’ve observed?

How does gender intersect with other axes of identity/difference (sexuality, race, ethnicity, class, etc) in what you’ve observed?

Discuss World War II in the Pacific, using three key events to illustrate the course of the war in the Pacific theater. How and why did the US win the war against Japan? Be specific. Do you think the United States would have won the war against Japan without the use of the Atomic Bombs? Why or why not? Defend your position on this point in terms of the idea: could Japan have been defeated via conventional warfare? How did the advent of atomic weapons influence the emerging Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union? Be specific.

Identify at least one common theme that will serve as the framework of your exploration document.

Choose two cultural artifacts to analyze. These artifacts may take the form of any artistic medium, such as literature, poetry, music, film, dance,
painting, and sculpture, and so on. However, it is important to choose two artifacts that have been created by different artists and were created during different
time periods (ex. separated by at least 50 years). Then, identify an initial theme (or themes) that is common to both of your chosen artifacts. You will analyze
these artifacts and their expression of the identified theme in Theme: Examining the Humanities and Theme: Impact of the Humanities.
Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed:
I. Describe the cultural artifacts that you have chosen. Consider questions such as these in your response: What is the name or title of the artifact? Who is
the author or artist? What is the date or time period when the artifact was created? What is the cultural location or physical setting of the artifact? In
addition, you could consider including a photograph or image of each cultural artifact, if they are visual artifacts.
II. Identify at least one common theme that will serve as the framework of your exploration document. How is the theme expressed in your artifacts?
III. Reflect on how the theme you identified is related to your personal experience. For instance, you could discuss how the expression of the theme in your
cultural artifacts is connected to you personally.

Guidelines for Submission: Your artifacts and theme selection should adhere to the following formatting requirements: 1 to 2 pages in length, double-spaced,
using 12-point Times New Roman font and one-inch margins. You should use current APA style guidelines (or another format approved by your instructor) for
any potential citations or references.
