In a 2-3 page paper give a brief description of the accident and explain what mission planning/briefing deficiencies were involved with the accident.

For this assignment, find your own accident case study where there was inadequate mission planning and/or briefings that contributed to a mishap. Often times in a mishap it is hard to have just one factor that caused the accident. Usually it takes a series of events to line up for an accident to happen.
In a 2-3 page paper give a brief description of the accident and explain what mission planning/briefing deficiencies were involved with the accident. Be sure to support your observations and include any references.

Decide on a problem which affects student motivation and learning.

The Course Project: Final Paper Assignment is designed to familiarize you with the parts of the study that will be in chapter 2 of the dissertation (the literature review). You are basically writing a “mini” very scaled down chapter 2 for the Course Project.

The assignments for the Course Project are broken down throughout the course, so that you will build your project throughout the course and use the assignments to write your Course Project: Final Paper Assignment.

Directions: Identify a Problem

This assignment must be 750-1,000 words.

For this assignment, there must be a title page and a reference page with at least five scholarly references. Scholarly references are peer reviewed journal articles and published professional books that are found in the JFL library. You may have more than five references because you will be looking at the literature to explore your problem to see what has been done in the field of research on the topic or problem. Current APA has very specific guidelines for the title page and reference page. Please consult the current APA manual for the correct formatting for each of these parts.

For this assignment, you are given the topic and you will decide on a problem which affects student motivation and learning.

Topic: Choose a problem that is significant to teaching and learning.

Identify a problem in education regarding this topic. Since the topic is very broad, explore any area that aligns with this topic. The problem should be one that you are very interested in finding out more about because this problem will be the focus of the paper and all of the other parts of the paper will be centered on this problem. A problem needs to be identified that is a problem in the field of education, or the field for the program students are in and not a specific problem just to you or your institution. It must be a problem that others have stated needs further research and can be generalized across the entire field. Do not choose a problem that is specific to one school or one institution.

Write a 750–1,000-word paper (body of the paper) on the problem you have identified. Areas to address that will be the headings for the paper.

  • Problem-In this section, explain what the problem is (how it has been exposed) and why it is something that needs to be further studied and researched (how it has been identified as a problem). Any problem that a researcher wants to study, must be a problem that has been identified in the research as needing further study. This can be found by looking at the existing literature on the topic/problem and see what is missing or what has been identified as needing further study. At the end of every dissertation, and many research-based articles there is a section dedicated to what is needed to further study the topic/problem. These are excellent resources to check and read through for ideas on topics and problems for research studies.
  • Practices, Policies or Procedures That Led to the Problem-In this section, explain what has brought this problem to light causing it to need to be studied. What has happened that has created this problem? Think of this as the “why this is so important to educational research” section of the paper.
  • Importance of the Problem -In this section, discuss how this problem is significant to teaching and learning. Explain previous ways the problem has been addressed in the past. If there is little to no research on the problem (and it is highly unlikely that there will be no literature at all relating to the problem) then explain this in this section. Talk about the missing parts of the research that lead you to explore this problem.
  • Steps Taken to Address Problem-In this section, explain what steps, if any, have already been taken to address the problem. Share your own ideas on possible solutions for the problem. You may use first person in this section only.
  • Biblical Worldview-In this section, offer a biblical worldview perspective on the problem. Explain why the resolution of the problem is important as it relates to scripture and your Biblical worldview.

Format the paper according to current APA format and see the grading rubric for specific grading criteria.

Write a clear, well-developed, precise research essay on one of the following topics on Lorraine Hansberry’s Raisin in the Sun.

Raisin in the Sun Essay Instructions

Write a clear, well-developed, precise research essay on one of the following topics on Lorraine Hansberry’s Raisin in the Sun.

Make sure you identify which topic you chose by writing under your title  #1 or #2 to indicate which topic you selected to write about in your essay.

Topic Choice #1:

Langston Hughes’ poem “Harlem” poses a question: “What happens to a dream deferred?” Why do you think Lorraine Hansberry chose this poem as the epigraph for A Raisin in the Sun? Write an essay in which you discuss the various “dreams” that come into conflict in the play. Which “dream” does the play seem to endorse? Does it ultimately answer Hughes’s question?

Here is a link to the text of Langston Hughes’ poem : “Harlem”:

Hansberry’s play expores not only the evolving cultural and economic positions of African-Americans in the mid-twentieth century, but also their evolving gender roles, a subject on which Robert C. Weaver also comments briefly in “The Negro as an American.” Write an essay in which you discuss the crucial role that gender, economic class, or culture plays in the action of A Raisin in the Sun.  Make sure you refer to specific details both from Hansberry’s play and Weaver’s article. There is a link to Weaver’s article in this week’s ‘Required Reading’ section.

Here is a link as well to Weaver’s article:

In the instructions in the Week 10 Folder, you will also find an attachment with Weaver’s article.

Essay instructions:

  1. The essay should be between 700-1000 words. Aim to stay within this word count limit.
  2. Come up with a creative title. Under the title, write #1 or #2 depending on which topic you selected to write about in your essay.
  3. Your introduction should include an underlined thesis statement. The thesis statement expresses in one succinct sentence your main argument or claim that you will prove and develop in the paper as it progresses.
  4. Use two scholarly research resources. The quoted passages should be limited. The paper should consist mostly of your own interpretation of the readings expressed in your own words. The research materials are meant to further bolster your own arguments and to offer information that enriches your analysis.
  5. Avoid plagiarism, please. A plagiarized paper will result in a grade of ZERO.
  6. Use the objective point of view. Refrain from using “I” in the critical analysis of the play.
  7. There is no need to summarize the play. Quote from the play sparingly. It is better to paraphrase so as to not have such lengthy quotations.
  8. Make sure that you are referring to Hughes’ poem if you choose topic #1 and that you also analyze the chosen theme on gender, economic class, or culture both from the play and from Weaver’s article if you choose topic #2.
  9. Make sure you use the correct MLA format for in-text and the ‘Works Cited’ citations. Cite both the play and Weaver’s or Hughes’ poem.

***How to cite a play:

  1. Proofread your essay before submission. Too many errors negatively impact the quality of your writing.

Guidelines:

  1. This essay requires no less than two, no more than three secondary sources – that is, sources other than the specific text you are analyzing.
  2. Remember that your essay should show evidence of freewriting. Be sure that you support your points with specific quotes from the play, and that rather than simply throwing in the quotes and moving on, you take the time to examine those quotes. Avoid block quotes. If you’ve chosen Topic 3, be sure you’re prepared to describe in detail the physical features of your chosen scene.
  3. Use the present verb tense.
  4. Avoid plot summary, and avoid discussions of what a character should have done. Be sure that your thesis statement and your paragraph main ideas represent an informed analytical opinion.
  1. Underline the thesis statement.
  2. Write a paper that is at least 700 words in length. Avoid going past 1000 words.
  3. Avoid plagiarism. Plagiarized essays will receive the grade of ZERO.

Which prominent personality traits does this patient appear to exhibit?

Read the following case study on a patient who was diagnosed with a personality disorder:
Jodie is a 31-year old woman who comes to you for treatment. She states that the reason she is there is to get her anger under control, and that in her last several relationships with men, she has been guilty of hitting her boyfriends and/or throwing things at them. She states that she doesn’t know why she does this because she ‘really loved all of them.’ During the course of your conversation, you discover that she has been married and divorced three times, and in the last year, has had 4 ‘serious’ relationships. Also, she tells you that she has had two past suicide attempts (pill overdoses) in response to ‘bad breakups’ with various boyfriends and husbands. Jodie is also both a compulsive shopper and compulsive eater. She has been known to max out her credit cards on shopping binges, and she has a habit of binging and purging. She states that she mostly engages in these kinds of behavior when her relationships are ‘getting bad.’ She tells you that when she is in a relationship, it’s very intense and that her whole world looks brighter, yet when the relationship begins to crumble, she goes through periods of intense depression and suicidal thoughts and has even resorted, more than once, to falsely telling her husband/boyfriend that she was pregnant in order to try to salvage the relationship. She states that she has two goals in therapy: to get a handle on her anger issues and to try to resolve these feelings of intense emptiness she has.
Jodie is exhibiting classic symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder and meets most of the criteria outlined in the DSM 5 (she easily meets 6 of the 9 criteria).
Think about what your next steps are to treat Jodie.
After having read the case study, compose 2,000 word paper that thoroughly answers the following questions:
1. Which psychological tests, if any, would you administer to this patient, and why? Be sure to use research and what you have learned to back up your answers.
2. If given the choice, would you apply Freud’s, Erikson’s, Adler’s, or Jung’s theory of personality to describe this patient? Why? Which theory do you feel fits best? Again, be sure to back up your answers with research.
3. In terms of biological traits, which ones might fit best with this patient? Why?
4. What about sexual identity traits?
5. Would you choose to treat this patient behaviorally, cognitively, or humanistically? Why?
6. Which prominent personality traits does this patient appear to exhibit?
7. Provide a summary of your findings and a rudimentary treatment plan for this patient. Be sure to explain your intent.
Your paper should have a title page and a page listing all references and should be formatted in the APA style. In addition, it should include an introduction and conclusion.
Using Sources
You may refer to the course material for supporting evidence, but you must also use at least three credible, outside sources and cite them using APA format. Please include a mix of both primary and secondary sources, with at least one source from a scholarly peer-reviewed journal.

Explain an organizational or patient issue for which a collaborative interdisciplinary team approach would help achieve a specific improvement goal.

This assignment builds off of previous assignment “ Interdisciplinary Intervention” order number: 7531919 And “Interprofessional Collaboration Problem” , Order number: 7530493

Create an 8-12 slide PowerPoint presentation for one or more stakeholder or leadership groups to generate interest and buy-in for the plan proposal you developed for the third assessment called  “Interdisciplinary Intervention” – order number: 7531919

Professional Context

This assessment will provide you with an opportunity to sharpen your ability to create a professional presentation to stakeholders. In this presentation, you will explain the Plan-Do-Study-Act cycle and how it can be used to introduce the plan (P), implement the plan (D), study the effectiveness of the plan (S), and act on what is learned (A) to drive continuous improvement. By using this cycle, the stakeholders will have a tool and a proposal to expand on these ideas to drive workplace change and create improved processes to solve an interprofessional collaboration problem.

Scenario

In addition to summarizing the key points of Assessments 2 and 3,                        “ Interdisciplinary Intervention” order number: 7531919 And “Interprofessional Collaboration Problem” , Order number: 7530493

you will provide stakeholders and/or leadership with an overview of project specifics as well as how success would be evaluated—you will essentially be presenting a discussion of the Plan, Do, and Study parts of the PDSA cycle. Again, you will not be expected to execute the project, so you will not have any results to study. However, by carefully examining the ways in which your plan could be carried out and evaluated, you will get some of the experience of the thinking required for PDSA.

When creating your PowerPoint for this assessment, it is important to keep in mind the target audience: your interviewee’s organizational leadership. The overall goal of this assessment is to create a presentation that your interviewee could potentially give in his or her organization.

Instructions.

Be sure that your plan addresses the following, which corresponds to the grading criteria in the scoring guide. Please study the scoring guide carefully so you understand what is needed for a distinguished score.

  • Summarize an evidence-based interdisciplinary plan to address an organizational or patient issue.
  • Explain how the interdisciplinary plan could be implemented and how the human and financial resources would be managed.
  • Propose evidence-based criteria that could be used to evaluate the degree to which the project was successful in achieving the improvement goal.
  • Communicate the PowerPoint presentation of the interdisciplinary improvement plan to stakeholders in a professional manner, with writing that is clear, logically organized, and respectful with correct grammar and spelling using current APA style.

There are various ways to structure your presentation; following is one example:

  • Part 1: Organizational or Patient Issue.
    • What is the issue that you are trying to solve or improve?
    • Why should the audience care about solving it?
  • Part 2: Relevance of an Interdisciplinary Team Approach.
    • Why is using an interdisciplinary team relevant, or the best approach, to addressing the issue?
    • How will it help to achieve improved outcomes or reach a goal?
  • Part 3: Interdisciplinary Plan Summary.
    • What is the objective?
    • How likely is it to work?
    • What will the interdisciplinary team do?
  • Part 4: Implementation and Resource Management.
    • How could the plan be implemented to ensure effective use of resources?
    • How could the plan be managed to ensure that resources were not wasted?
    • How does the plan justify the resource expenditure?
  • Part 5: Evaluation.
    • What would a successful outcome of the project look like?
    • What are the criteria that could be used to measure that success?
      • How could this be used to show the degree of success?

Again, keep in mind that your audience for this presentation is a specific group (or groups) at your interviewee’s organization and tailor your language and messaging accordingly. Remember, also, that another person will ultimately be giving the presentation.

!!!! Include thorough speaker’s notes that flesh out the bullet points on each slide. !!!!

Additional Requirements

  • Number of slides: Plan on using one or two slides for each part of your presentation as needed, so the content of your presentation will be 8–12 slides in length. Remember that slides should contain concise talking points, and you will use presenter’s notes to go into detail. Be sure to include a reference slide as the last slide of your presentation.
  • Number of references:Cite a minimum of 3 sources of scholarly or professional evidence that support your central ideas. Resources should be no more than five years old.
