Using your own organisation or an organisation with which you are familiar, identify a change that has happened or needs to happen.

It is said that the only constant in life is change and this is true for many organisations too, be that change to maintain competitive advantage, respond to the competition or to improve performance within the workplace. Regardless of the reason for change, change can impact on people, processes and the culture of an organisation.

An organisation’s leader(s) can exert influence on how an organisation operates and how effective it is because they determine the structure of an organisation, its objectives and how they are to be achieved. This also has an impact on organisational culture.

Using your own organisation or an organisation with which you are familiar, identify a change that has happened or needs to happen.

You are a management consultant that has been brought in to assist with the changes that will be needed. With reference to appropriate theory and giving justification for your answers you are tasked to:

  1. Advise briefly the change and why it is necessary
  2. Analyse the culture of the organisation and consider where and why there might be resistance to the change
  3. Identify how leaders need to approach the change to minimise resistance and maximise successful implementation
  4. Advise how leadership style and emotional intelligence can impact on the effectiveness of implementing change.

Your response should be in the form of a written report of between 1,500 – 2,000 words.

Explain how birth order impacts an individual’s personality.

After completing this week’s readings, explain how birth order impacts an individual’s personality.
Generally, what particular qualities does a first-born child have?
The last born child?
Does an only child possess certain personality aspects that we might not observe in children who have siblings?
Are there ways to “generate” or facilitate certain qualities in children, based on birth order theories? In other words, can parents use birth order findings in order to manufacture an environment for the child that facilitates certain qualities without the actual siblings in the theories

Explain concisely in your own words what you believe are the key overall features of an ‘Enlightened Planning’ (EP) approach to project risk management in the execution and delivery strategy progress stage of a project’s lifecycle.

Part 1. 1200 words:
Explain concisely in your own words what you believe are the key overall features of an
‘Enlightened Planning’ (EP) approach to project risk management in the execution and delivery
strategy progress stage of a project’s lifecycle. Very briefly compare these features with the PMI
PIMBOK approach or any other form of common practice you are familiar with if you would like to
and you find this helpful, but focus on the EP approach. Use examples to illustrate your discussion
if you wish, but concentrate on concepts and principles. Briefly comment on how this approach
needs to be modified for other project lifecycle stages and linked to operations and overall
corporate management. This part of your essay will be a largely descriptive summary of your
interpretation of the lectures and associated reading. It will explore the nature and role of basic
frameworks like the project lifecycle, the process phase structure and the seven Ws to
demonstrate your grasp of the central core of the unit’s material as a whole, and it should be
approached with a view to demonstrating this understanding.
Part 2: 900 words
For the identify (sources of uncertainty, responses and conditions) phase of the EP approach, in the
execution and delivery strategy progress stage of a project’s lifecycle, explain concisely in your own
words what you believe are the key features of an EP approach, briefly comparing these features
with the PMI PIMBOK approach or any other form of common practice you are familiar with. Your
discussion should demonstrate your ability to understand a particular area of the course material in
depth, based on selective reading, critical analysis and the case study exercises. Use examples to
illustrate your discussion if you wish, but concentrate on concepts and principles. Build on your
Part 1 answer, avoiding repetition of earlier discussion.
Part 3. 900words
For another of the phases of the EP approach, in the execution and delivery strategy progress stage
of a project’s lifecycle, explain concisely in your own words what you believe are the key features of
an EP approach, comparing these features with the PMI PIMBOK approach or any other form ofcommon practice you are familiar with. Your discussion should demonstrate your ability to
understand another particular area of the course material in depth, based on selective reading,
critical analysis and the case study exercises. Use examples to illustrate your discussion if you wish,
but concentrate on concepts and principles. Briefly explain why you chose the phase selected. Your
brief explanation for your choice of phase should expand the earlier Part 1 demonstration of your
overall understanding of what the module is about. Build on your Parts 1 and 2 answers, avoiding
repetition of earlier discussion.

Conduct a formalized assessment of how MyFitness Pal would perform against the Happtique Standards.

Review the Happtique guidelines the document released back in 2013. Going back to the app you discussed at the start of the course (MyFitness Pal), conduct a formalized assessment of how MyFitness Pal would perform against the Happtique Standards. You should focus on the four key areas of the Happtique Guidelines (Operability, Privacy, Security, and Content Standards).
Your paper should be organized as such. Note that some apps may not fit all the requirements laid out in the guidelines. As such, students are provided a range of latitude in interpreting both the standards and applying the framework against the app selected (the goal is to engage in rigorous evaluation to inform future decision making). The paper should be 5 pages double spaced.
APA format. 3 External citations

Develop a 3 – 4 page paper that describes your agreement or disagreement with this position.

According to the text, men often marry women who are similar to their own mothers. Develop a 3 – 4 page paper that describes your agreement or disagreement with this position. Justify your position. Describe whether you think the male’s choice is limited to women who resemble the male’s mother or is it more influenced by the woman’s personality’s similarity to the male’s own personality?
Consider how might our growing understanding of couples from the LGBTQA community impact statements limited to male and female relationships, such as the text currently offers.
Lastly, discuss potential pros and cons in choosing a mate who has personality resemblances to your parent.

What did Madison see as the primary threat to a democracy?

I have to explain Madison’s argument in the Federalist #10. What was Madison’s primary concern? What did Madison see as the primary threat to a democracy? How did Madison propose to keep this threat in check?
Thanks

Which states were founding members?

  • You are each required to write a paper (the content of which is described below) that is approximately 9 pages in length, not including cover page and references. Your papers do not have to be exactly 9 pages.  For example, a well-written paper that fulfills all of the requirements may turn out to be 8 pages.  On the other hand, a less well-written paper may turn out to be 12 pages of rambling that does not meet the requirements for the assignment.
  • However, your papers must not exceed 15 pages.
  • Please do not fool around with the margins. The papers should be double-spaced, in Times New Roman, 12 point font, with standard MS Word margins.  With today’s software, I expect your papers to be largely free of spelling and grammatical errors.
  • All papers are due August 8th at 11:59pm. You must upload them to Turnitin on Blackboard.
  • You are also strongly encouraged to e-mail me about your paper once you have chosen a topic so that I can help steer you in the right direction.
  • Students may use the citation style with which they are most familiar. Citation styles include but are not limited to MLA, APA, Chicago Style, and APSA Style (the American Political Science Association style).  Please see the section in this document regarding citation.  A reference list must be included at the end of your paper.
  • Choose one intergovernmental organization from the following list (you may also choose an IGO that is not on this list if you obtain prior approval from me). This list excludes the six IGOs that we cover in detail in the class (UN, NATO, EU, IMF, WTO, and WHO) and includes IGOs that presently exist and for which there is sufficient information available to write your papers well.  If you want to write about one the five excluded IGOs, you must get approval from me.
    • Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)
    • Council of Europe (CoE)
    • International Bank for Reconstruction and Development aka World Bank (IBRD)
    • International Labor Organization (ILO)
    • International Telecommunications Union (ITU)
    • League of Arab States (LAS)
    • Common Market of the Southern Cone States (Mercosur)
    • North American Free Trade Association (NAFTA)
    • Organization of American States (OAS)
    • African Union (AU)
    • Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)
  • Begin with a brief history and description of the organization.  Write in paragraph form, but try to include answers to this questions in the background, history, and description section of your paper.  You do not have to address the questions in this order – just try to make sure you address them when the information is available:
    • Which states were founding members?
    • What caused the states to create the IGO?
    • Was it created within another IGO or was a previous IGO reconstituted as this one?
    • What is the purpose of the IGO?  Which issue area(s) does it cover?
    • Who are the current member states?  Are they mostly powerful states, mostly less powerful states, or a mix of states with varying degrees of power?  Are they mostly democracies, mostly not democracies, or a mixture of democracies and autocracies?
    • Do any non-state actors participate in the decision-making fora of the IGO? (e.g. the EU Commission represents the EU member states within the WTO; interest groups meet with EU Commissioners to discuss EU policies)
    • What is the budget of the IGO and how is it financed (i.e. do states contribute equal amounts, is it dependent on their GDPs, etc.)
    • What are the bodies of the IGO and what is/are the decision-making process(es) within the IGO?
