Describe how scores are interpreted in comparison to group means and norms (for a standardized or norm-referenced test) or to cutoff scores (for criterion-referenced test).

Part 1: Complete an assessment in your specialization area (Mental Health Counselor). Once you have completed the assessment, discuss your expectations for the assessment, the degree of complexity of the assessment items or questions, the perceived relevance of the assessment, and your anticipated results versus actual results (in general). Also, analyze the relevance to your specialization and ethical use of the assessment. Please note that you must take this assessment yourself. Do not administer the assessment to another person(s). Part of the focus of this assignment is to examine your own experience with, and reactions to, the assessment.

Part 2: Read the reviews of the assessment in the MMY, or from the Capella University Library, and perform the following actions.

Examine the key test measurement constructs of reliability and validity for the assessment. You will want to describe the methods used to acquire reliability and validity for the assessment.
Describe how results of the assessment are interpreted. For example, describe how scores are interpreted in comparison to group means and norms (for a standardized or norm-referenced test) or to cutoff scores (for criterion-referenced test). How are scores on this assessment correlated with other tests that measure the same construct?
Analyze the effectiveness of the selected assessment tool in your specialization area incorporating a minimum of six scholarly research studies.
Based on the review of the literature, evaluate if the assessment is clear in its application of measurement concepts. Please use the Assignment Template listed under Resources to compose your assessment constructs paper.

Identify a variety of scholarly and popular writings about your company, as well as least two significant companies in the same industry.

Description

Students will conduct a literature review of the vision, goals, strategy, and investment philosophy of the subject company, comparing these to at least 2 competitive companies in the same line of business.

Instructions

As you read the chapters for the unit, you should begin to make notes about your chosen company, recording how that company engages its culture and the manner of its legal structure. These will be the sorts of foundational issues and core values – the vision, goals, strategy, and investment philosophy – that help define any company. The Study Questions will help you focus on these issues, but you will undoubtedly need to conduct further research to gather the information you will need to apply this to your specific company.

The literature review for this assignment represents this additional research – the background information upon which you will base the picture you need to paint of your company for the final research paper.

  1. Identify a variety of scholarly and popular writings about your company, as well as least two significant companies in the same industry.
    1. Seek out scholarly journals, reputable trade magazines, official company reports from websites, newspapers, etc.
    2. Review and summarize the key points of at least 5 sources about your company, and at least 5 sources combined about two of its competitors. Remember that your goal is to gather enough information to paint as complete a picture as possible, so you may need more than 5 sources for each part.
    3. Include in each review the focus and value of the information it contains.
  2. Each review should be concise and accurate – 5 pages maximum (excluding the cover page, reference list etc).
    1. Remember, you are not repeating all the information itself, but rather identifying and contextualizing the sources whose information will eventually go into that report.
    2. Include a title page and reference page, and apply strict APA formatting.
    3. Organize your reviews in a logical and flowing manner. You should write your literature review in such a manner that it focuses on your company, its issues, or its competitor’s comparative issues so that you can subsequently incorporate it into your final paper.
