For this assessment, you will develop a 3-5 page paper that examines a safety quality issue pertaining to medication administration in a health care setting. You will analyze the issue and examine potential evidence-based and best-practice solutions from the literature as well as the role of nurses and other stakeholders in addressing the issue.

Health care organizations and professionals strive to create safe environments for patients however, due to the complexity of the health care system, maintaining safety can be a challenge. Since nurses comprise the largest group of health care professionals, a great deal of responsibility falls in the hands of practicing nurses. Quality improvement (QI) measures and safety improvement plans are effective interventions to reduce medical errors and sentinel events such as medication errors, falls, infections, and deaths. A 2000 Institute of Medicine (IOM) report indicated that almost one million people are harmed annually in the United States, (Kohn et al., 2000) and 210,000–440,000 die as a result of medical errors (Allen, 2013).

The role of the baccalaureate nurse includes identifying and explaining specific patient risk factors, incorporating evidence-based solutions to improving patient safety and coordinating care. A solid foundation of knowledge and understanding of safety organizations such as Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN), the Institute of Medicine (IOM), and The Joint Commission and its National Patient Safety Goals (NPSGs) program is vital to practicing nurses with regard to providing and promoting safe and effective patient care.

You are encouraged to complete the Identifying Safety Risks and Solutions activity. This activity offers an opportunity to review a case study and practice identifying safety risks and possible solutions. We have found that learners who complete course activities and review resources are more successful with first submissions. Completing course activities is also a way to demonstrate course engagement.

They are simply the unintended side effects of market activities. Externalities can be positive or negative. One example of a positive externality might be when beekeepers provide a means of pollination for fruit growers. Air, water, and noise pollution are examples of negative externalities.

Many counselors believe they are culturally sensitive and that they understand their clients of different cultural backgrounds; however, there may be characteristics that are misunderstood. This assignment will allow you to explore aspects of other cultures to gain a better understanding of and appreciation for these other cultures.

Choose a significant identifying characteristic about yourself that you are willing to change for one to two days.

Use your findings from the Ethnic Genogram assignment, due in Week 2, to help you select a characteristic.

Try to change a characteristic that could help you become a better multicultural counselor, but remember to stay safe while doing so.

Obtain instructor approval for the characteristic you would like to change.

Inform family and employers of the nature of the assignment. Before you begin the cultural plunge experience, write out what you expect to happen. During the experience, pay attention to your reactions and the reactions of others. Make note of these reactions at the end of each day.

Create a 5- to 10-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation of your experience. Include the following:
– The cultural plunge experience
– What characteristic did you select for the cultural plunge? How does your choice of a characteristic relate to being a better cultural counselor?

First, you should select a company(AMAZON), research two of its competitors, and create a report to present to the client in which you analyze the business’s current competitive standing within its industry using at least two competitive analysis models/tools with a focus on the role IT plays in determining its current competitive posture; one of the models used in the analysis must be Porter’s Five Forces. Over the course of this term, you have done the challenging work of not only learning ethics and ethical decision-making, but you have also had to reflect and learn more about yourself and your decision-making. The calling you have answered, to help the hurting and those in need, requires you to be able to make the best decisions that you can for your clients. This requires a self-awareness and an ability to understand why you make the decisions that you tend to make.
This week’s discussion board is all about you. Take a moment to reflect and write not only about what you’ve learned this term, but also write about what challenged you. Was there a particular scenario that triggered something from your past? Did you realize that making certain types of decisions may be harder for you than other types of decision? Perhaps you have become aware of some unfinished business from your past that surfaced. Keep in mind, you no not need to share details or go beyond where you feel safe. Share what you can, and what you feel is safe and appropriate.
Take this opportunity to reflect on this process. Where did you begin, where are you now, and where do you go from here? Your post should reflect your ability to self-analyze and understand yourself as well as identify areas a growth needed.
