Project team

What are the root cause issues in the project, and how can they best be addressed to transform the project into a well-functioning system? Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed:

I. Introduction
A. Establish a context for your report by summarizing the important details of the case and identifying the purpose of this report for your audience (i.e., your executive leadership).

B. Explain the underlying engineering management principles that guided your inquiry. Remember that your audience may have a different philosophy, so be sure to clearly articulate your understanding of engineering projects as complex systems and explain why this analogy is useful.

II. Project Methodology
A. Assess the extent to which the project suffers from methodological dysfunctions. To what extent has methodology been logically and consistently applied through each of the stages of development? Defend your position with specific evidence.

B. Specifically identify examples of handshake issues in which the silos between working groups prevented effective transitions from one design step to the next.

C. Evaluate the current use of the project’s resources and personnel. Are all team members working in appropriate roles related to their specific expertise? Could the team’s resources be more strategically allocated? Defend your position with specific evidence.

III. Project Team
A. Characterize the mindset of the engineers on the project team. What are their strengths and weaknesses? Defend your position with specific evidence.

B. Specifically describe the motivations, dispositions, and assumptions of the engineers working on the project team. How are they distinct from those of the nontechnical members of the project team? Illustrate with specific examples.

C. Assess the extent to which the distinct mindset of the engineers impacts their work performance. In what ways are the engineers not thinking or acting strategically? To what extent are they failing to maintain a holistic view of the entire project? Illustrate with specific examples.

D. Communication
Characterize the overall effectiveness of internal and external project team communications. Where have there been successes and failures? What have been the impacts of each?

What are consequences and/or impact of the results in the “real world”? Do the authors overstate this importance? Or do they miss important impact they should have written/about?

Attentional shifting and disengagement in Rett syndrome (2019) by Susan A. Rose

Briefly state the main research question and write enough about the data and/or results for the reader to understand your critique. Keep any explanation of the data or methods clear and concise so that you can focus primarily on the critique.

Suggestions for identifying something to critique:
1. Evaluate the experimental methods. For example, did the authors really test what they said they intended to test? Are there flaws in the experimental design? Did they include the appropriate control groups? Did they have the proper controls for their experimental conditions? Make sure you elaborate on these comments and describe the problem and how it impacts their results and how they can be interpreted. Provide suggestions for a better approach and say why. State what new information you think they would have found if they had used a different approach.

2. Do the conclusions follow from the results or are there other interpretations that the authors did not consider? Be specific and suggest an experiment (or two) that could properly test that alternative explanation.

3. Discuss the limitations of the study or methods. Especially focus on any limitation that they did not mention themselves (comments about sample size need to be made with reference to the field – if authors are tackling a rare disorder, larger sample sizes may simply be unfeasible). In addition, sample size comments also need to be justified in terms of how it impacts the study – do they actually need a larger sample size to answer their research question? All limitations raised need to be discussed with reference to the research question and the statistics/method used.

4. What are consequences and/or impact of the results in the “real world”? Do the authors overstate this importance? Or do they miss important impact they should have written/about? Make sure you can explain how the data/results of the study directly lead to impact in the world or in what way the authors have overstated the studies importance and state what else would need to be done to have real impact.

How many did you find? Are you surprised? What conditions of probation or parole do you feel should be mandatory for sex offenders? Do you think sex offender treatment works? Why or why not?

Explain why that change should be made based on research and explain if the change requires legislation or could be made by changing rules. Explain this in precise detail, using professional fluency and detail.

Occupation Change

In this paper, you will identify one change they would like to see to the regulation of the occupation. The occupation you will be using is private detectives/investigators. Explain why that change should be made based on research and explain if the change requires legislation or could be made by changing rules. Explain this in precise detail, using professional fluency and detail.

Use academic journals or professional sites( ex. Bureau of Labor Statistics). Include a reference page with the sources you use. Include in-text citations in the paper. Use Times New Roman with 12 point- font and double space type. make sure the margins are one inch on the sides, top, and bottom. page number in the lower right hand corner. Write in great detail.

Analyze the plot in terms of its exposition, complication, crises, falling action, and denouncement. Examine the relationships between the two main characters.

Choose one of the following questions on which to base your thesis:
Analyze the plot in terms of its exposition, complication, crises, falling action, and denouncement.
Examine the relationships between the two main characters.
Discuss the irony and symbolism found in the story.
Describe how setting plays a role in the story.

Identify at least one regulation or law that the country put in place to reduce or control emissions and/or air pollution. What solutions or new regulations would you implement in order to reduce fossil fuel usage in the country you chose?

Worldwide energy consumption

varies dramatically, but the impacts are shared by all. The most commonly used fuel sources for energy around the world are the fossil fuels: coal, oil, and natural gas. Combustion of fossil fuels releases pollutants into the atmosphere, where the emissions from all countries combine to cause local, regional, and global issues. One of the primary pollutants of concern is carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas. Carbon dioxide emissions are responsible for climate change, and governments around the world have taken steps to control carbon dioxide levels, but not all countries have been successful in reducing carbon emissions.

While all countries produce pollution, and emit greenhouse gases, the emission releases are very unequal across the globe. Consider what kinds of factors would determine how much energy is used by a country, a region, a household, or an individual. What factors would influence the fuel choices made by these people and institutions?

For this assignment you will conduct research to determine the common fuel sources, sources of emissions, and applicable regulations of a country of your choice. The PG Library has created a library resource with references for you to use to start this assignment. You are also welcome to utilize the Reading assignments in your textbook and other credible sources that you find. The PG Library is also available to search other scientifically-based sources to support your assignment. Keep in mind that Wikipedia is not considered a reliable resource.

  1. Define and provide examples of each:
    1. Fossil fuels, non-renewable energy, and renewable energy.
  2. Identify a country that uses fossil fuels as its primary source of energy.
    1. Discuss why the country continues to rely on fossil fuels.
    2. Provide examples of manufactured products or agriculture that are dependent upon fossil fuel use in that country. Consider the level of industrialization in the country and discuss.
  3. Discuss impacts of the continued use of fossil fuels:
    1. Include both local and global impacts.
    2. Discuss both long- and short-term impacts on:
      1. The environment, human health, and economy. Be specific and detailed in your discussion.
  4. Identify at least one regulation or law that the country put in place to reduce or control emissions and/or air pollution.
    1. What factors were the regulation or law designed to address.
    2. How effective has this regulation or law been?
    3. Have emissions or pollution levels decreased?
  1. What solutions or new regulations would you implement in order to reduce fossil fuel usage in the country you chose? You can look to other countries around the world or the United Nations for examples of energy and emissions regulations.
  2. Global efforts are being made to reduce fossil fuel usage and pollution. Countries must work together to solve these problems. Review the following references for more information about how countries and individuals can work to combat climate change and bridge cultural differences and answer the following questions.
    • Imperial College London. (2020). Countries must work together on CO2 removal to avoid dangerous climate change. ScienceDaily. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/06/200608114710.htm

    • United Nations. (n.d.). Climate action. Sustainable development goals. https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/climate-change/
      1. Imagine that the country you selected has chosen to work with another country to implement the solution/regulation you recommended in #5 above. What country would they work with on this project and why did you choose that country to partner with?
      2. Analyze possible cultural differences and diversity concepts that would emerge if you recommended your changes stated above to another country? For example, what language barriers or religious and social differences would you encounter? What other cultural differences might need to be addressed as these two countries work together?
      3. Describe how countries can bridge cultural differences through strategic partnerships (e.g., a strategic partnership between countries is an Embassy). Include at least two ways that the cultural differences you identified can be addressed.
