Explain how your team will use the tools. For instance, will one person be in charge of the group calendar or will anybody be able to schedule meetings and invite participants?

PowerPoint presentation

You have been promoted to lead a newly formed team of 10 people. Most team members travel for work and some work from home part of the time. One of the things that takes up a lot of time for people who travel or work remotely is putting together expense reports for travel and home-based office expenses. You must review every expense report for accuracy before you send it to the accounting department, which verifies that the expenses do not exceed the budget for a particular account. If there are no budget issues, the accounting department tells the accounts payable department to reimburse the employee. If you find an inaccuracy or a receipt is missing, you must send the report back to the employee for correction. If the accounting department discovers a budgetary problem, they will send the report back to you to identify a different account to use for the expenses.

Put together a PowerPoint presentation to use at the kick-off meeting with your new team to introduce the collaboration and productivity tools they will be using. Explain how your team will use the tools. For instance, will one person be in charge of the group calendar or will anybody be able to schedule meetings and invite participants? Consider how team members will get training or help, if needed. Include one slide with a process map depicting the steps for expense reporting and explain how collaboration tools could make this time-consuming process easier and/or faster. Do not overwhelm your team; pick no more than six collaboration tools. The PowerPoint presentation should look professional and include references in APA format so your team members can find more information about the tools you are proposing. This is your chance to shine with a new team and new role. You want to get off to a good start by making it easier for your team members to work together.

Does the document have a title and your name on it? Formatting – does this document look like an academic report presented to an executive? Are the references easily identifiable in the text and reproduced at the end of the document?

Team of Teams By Stanley Mcchrystal

Introduction

You have now finished reading the leadership book of your choice and formed an idea about:

1.Book’s Intellectual Value,

2. Book’s Scientific Rigor,

3. Book’s Value for Leadership,

4. Readability.

This assignment takes your competency one step further. Knowing that it takes at least two years to write and publish a book, we can safely assume that there has been additional research published after the book was released.

Your Task

Select a specific focus area of the book you have reported on and find out what research has been conducted recently on the topic in the past few years, as well as, if anybody has any real measurements on the issue, what are the results of those measurements (proxy measurements are OK as well). Remember the exercise we had on the “What are your weaknesses” paper? It had no data, no reference to other work, and it was not published in a scientific journal. This time we are looking for something more scientific. Start with https://scholar.google.com/ (Links to an external site.)  and search for academic journals.

Submittal

This is an executive level document in which you answer a question from your boss’ boss: “What’ s new in the area of … ?” It has to be concise, precise, with clear attribution of the sources of information, and have a conclusion. While it is OK to discuss the research with colleagues, the write-up and most of the research shall be individual work. The literature review will be submitted through Canvas as a PDF file.

Make sure the following issues are well addressed:

  1. Does the document have a title and your name on it?
  2. Formatting – does this document look like an academic report presented to an executive?
  3. Are the references easily identifiable in the text and reproduced at the end of the document?
  4. Are the references from reliable academic sources?
  5. Are there enough references to sustain the general conclusion you wrote?
  6. Does the conclusion tell the reader all there is to know in a concise manner?

What topics do the poems have in common? How does Whitman develop these shared topics in the poems? Use evidence from the poems to support your answer.

The American Voice

Answer the question using complete sentences.

Read the two poems.

I Hear America Singing

by Walt Whitman

In this poem, Whitman honors the American work ethic. He describes how the voices of individual citizens come together in unison to represent the pride and joy Americans take in their work. At the same time, this blend of different voices into one is symbolic of American patriotism.

I hear America singing, the varied carols I hear,

Those of mechanics, each one singing his as it should be blithe and strong,

The carpenter singing his as he measures his plank or beam,

The mason singing his as he makes ready for work, or leaves off work,

The boatman singing what belongs to him in his boat, the deckhand singing on the steamboat deck,

The shoemaker singing as he sits on his bench, the hatter singing as he stands,

The wood-cutter’s song, the ploughboy’s on his way in the morning, or at noon intermission or at sundown,

The delicious singing of the mother, or of the young wife at work, or of the girl sewing or washing,

Each singing what belongs to him or her and to none else,

The day what belongs to the day—at night the party of young fellows, robust, friendly,

Singing with open mouths their strong melodious songs.

For You O Democracy

by Walt Whitman

In this poem, Whitman celebrates America’s infinite possibility as new nation. Whitman weaves imagery of the American landscape with ideals like unity, harmony, and patriotism.

Come, I will make the continent indissoluble,

I will make the most splendid race the sun ever shone upon,

I will make divine magnetic lands,

With the love of comrades,

With the life-long love of comrades.

I will plant companionship thick as trees along all the rivers of America, and along the shores of the great lakes, and all over the prairies,

I will make inseparable cities with their arms about each other’s necks,

By the love of comrades,

By the manly love of comrades.

For you these from me, O Democracy, to serve you ma femme!

For you, for you I am trilling these songs.

Respond to the prompt.

Consider the topics Whitman addresses in the two poems. What topics do the poems have in common? How does Whitman develop these shared topics in the poems? Use evidence from the poems to support your answer.

Marketing class

PART 1: LEADERBOARD
After completing the 9 turns in the Tutorial. you will want to click on the LEADERBOARD button on the bottom right hand side of the simulation. A pop- up screen will be visible and on that screen, click on the CUMULATIVE tab and answer the following:

What is your account balance and how did your account balance end up compared to your competitors?
What is your market share and how did your market share end up compared to your competitors?
What is your customer satisfaction % and how did your customer satisfaction end up compared to your competitors?
Using the information from the leaderboard and the Market Research area, what did you do better than your competition throughout the tutorial? Please explain why you performed better.
Again using the information from the leaderboard and the Market Research area, where did your competitors do better than you? Please explain why they performed better.

PART 2: REPORTS
Next you will need to look at some key results and performance indicators. You will want to click on the REPORTS button on the bottom right hand side of the simulation and a new screen with tabs will appear – each with a lot of important information to review: To help you better understand and interpret the information in these reports, please review the MKTG 1010 Simulation Help Video at the bottom of this page and/or these tutorial tips and resources.

Did anyone else target the same segment as you? If so, did they make more money than you? To determine this, click on the CASH FLOWS tab, click turn 9 and look at “Final Balance.”
In the KPI tab, look at the first 6 measures (characteristics score, features score, average appeal score, price score, message score and interest level – there include the measurements used to determine your Customer Satisfaction Score, which is what determines your overall grade in the simulation) and answer the following:
On which scores did you perform better than your competitors?
On which scores did competitors perform better than you?
Using the information from the simulation, please analyze these results and try to determine why you received these results. Be sure to use the video and tips referenced above for further explanation.

PART 3: NEXT STEPS:
Your “Final” in this class will be an 8 Turn Simulation which will be run just like the Marketing Simulation – Tutorial assignment… however, you will have to make ALL of your initial strategic decisions (target market, product, price, placement/distribution in retailers and promotion) in one turn before ending the turn. Once you have ended your turn, you will review results, analyze your competition, make strategic changes and end the turn 7 more times, giving you 8 turns (or quarters) worth of sales data.

Note that the Marketing Simulation – Final assignment will open for you once you submit this Tutorial Analysis Assignment.

Focusing on the crucial marketing decisions that you will have to make in the first turn of the Marketing Simulation – Final assignment in Connect – and drawing on what you learned in the Mini-Sims throughout the semester and the Marketing Simulation – Tutorial assignment – please answer the following about your strategic marketing plan for that assignment:

Who do you intend to choose as your target market in Turn 1 of the Marketing Simulation – Final assignment? Why? Remember that your decisions should be based on data – things like market size, market growth, average price paid compared to cost to product a good product, etc.
What do you think is a “good” amount to spend in advertising in Turn 1? Remember that while you have $10,000 in the bank to start, that’s not your advertising budget. As mentioned above, think about your average margin, sales potential, etc.
What other elements of the 4 Ps do you need to worry about and pay attention to in Turn 1? Why?
