How does human compassion inform our understanding of the world? Apply what you have observed about empathy and write a letter to the editor about an issue as though you are one of the characters from the assigned readings.

Letter to the editor

Keep in mind that compassion and empathy refer to the feelings you get in response to another’s emotions, suffering, or misfortune combined with a desire to help. Use at least two direct quotes to support your claim. As you write, keep in mind the unit’s essential question: How does human compassion inform our understanding of the world?
You will now apply what you have observed about empathy and write a letter to the editor about an issue as though you are one of the characters from the assigned readings.

Past performance experiences

What are your past performance experiences?
What are your educational goals and professional aspirations.

Explain in detail. It is important that you approach answering the essay question on your scholarship application as you would if you were writing an essay for an English 1301 or 1302 class.

  1.  Read through the question, and make sure you understand it.
  2.  Be sure to respond to each part of the question.
  3.  Be as specific as you can to support what you say about your qualifications and life experiences. Try to think of examples that will show the reader what you mean.
  4. Check your punctuation and grammar. Proofread carefully.  If time allows, leave your response for a short time, then go back and proofread it again before submitting it.

Conduct an essentially research project to write a research paper on a sport law related topic of your interest.

Sport Law Research

This instruction is intended to provide you direction in writing your research papers. They are not exhaustive, but merely provide guidance in your writing. There will be some specifics on here, but by and large, I cannot tell you how to write your paper; that is your job. You as a group are expected to write a research paper that does not merely summarize a topic but instead critically analyzes a topic and offers a discussion based upon previous research findings as well as your own opinion injected into the paper. You will be expected to offer critical analysis and thinking on your topic, not just talk and talk for pages and pages.

Introduction:
In a group of 3 or 4 students, you will essentially conduct a research project to write a research paper on a sport law related topic of your interest. Questions and corresponding responses for class discussion must be included as well.

Determine and isolate value creation and value destruction variables. Using pertinent case studies, ascertain which business processes are impacted by each of these tools in their respective industries. Assess the impact of artificial intelligence and machine learning on the enterprise’s tangible and intangible value, determining whether they create or destroy value.

THE USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND MACHINE LEARNING AS BUSINESS APPLICATIONS

This research examines the current state of artificial intelligence and machine learning adoption and application in business processes. The study will explore and assess the benefits and drawbacks of leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning to increase operational efficiency in businesses by identifying risks and potential value destruction. The findings will enable a trade-off analysis of the value creation and destruction caused by AI and machine learning as business tools.

Objectives

1) Determine and isolate value creation and value destruction variables.
2) Using pertinent case studies, ascertain which business processes are impacted by each of these tools in their respective industries.
3) Using applicable case studies, assess the impact of each of these tools on business operations.
4) Assess the impact of artificial intelligence and machine learning on the enterprise’s tangible and intangible value, determining whether they create or destroy value.
5) Propose a business model based on the evaluation that maximises operational efficiency through AI and machine learning while minimising value destruction trade-offs via industry-specific theoretical frameworks.

Discuss to what extent his character deserves to be called ‘great.’ Is Fitzgerald being serious, or ironic? Discuss the presentation of his character, making a clear argument for your interpretation, making meaningful links to context and author’s purpose.

To what extent is Jay Gatsby ‘great’?

Discuss to what extent his character deserves to be called ‘great.’ Is Fitzgerald being serious, or ironic? Discuss the presentation of his character, making a clear argument for your interpretation, making meaningful links to context and author’s purpose. Your answer should mention;

– prohibition
– the emerging consumer culture
– Fitzgerald’s commentary on the American Dream

Plot the real GDP for the country over time and add an exponential trend line with its equation, which reflects the potential GDP. Analyze briefly your graph highlighting periods of recession and expansions, as well as finding the long run economic growth rate.

Excel Assignment

Guidelines
1. The assignment can be submitted in groups of maximum TWO students. You can also work individually if you choose to.
2. Each group will be assigned a different country to work with.
3. It is emphatically not allowed to discuss or share anything regarding this assignment with another group. If you need help with Excel or finding data for your country, you can refer to plenty of YouTube tutorials or your instructor as last resort.
4. You need to submit a report that contains the graphs and analysis (TWO pages maximum) and one Excel file as an Appendix that contains all your data. You need to clearly mention in your report the names of your group, section number, as well as the data sources that you used for each economic variable.
5. The deadline for this assignment is May 8th (section 77) and May 9th (section 78) during class time.
6. READ ALL these guidelines very carefully and make sure you understand what to do before starting your assignment.

Tasks
For all the tasks below only use quarterly or yearly data for at least 30 years.

1. (2 marks) Plot the real GDP for the country over time and add an exponential trend line with its equation, which reflects the potential GDP. Analyze briefly your graph highlighting periods of recession and expansions, as well as finding the long run economic growth rate.

2. (2 marks) Use real (or constant prices) household Consumption (C), private investment (I) and your data on real GDP (Y). Plot on the same diagram the following relationships:
C = a + b*Y
I = m + n*Y
where (a, b, m, n) are constants to be estimated.

HINTS:
The frequency of the data for C, I, and Y must be the same (e.g., quarterly or yearly), and that you need to use constant prices of the same year for both
variables (e.g., Consumption and GDP, at constant prices of 2005, or 100=2005, or any other year available). b is the marginal propensity to consume (MPC)

3. (1 mark) Assume anything else is constant, find the multiplier (K) for the chosen economy

Compare actual results to expected results. Explain unexpected/expected results by linking this to general biological principles. Evaluate the hypothesis (Describe what the p value means). Describe future experiments that could further the research on this topic.

Procedure 2: Oil and Feathers

The results section is two parts. There is a written part, and there is a graphical part. In the graph part, you should create your own unique visual representation of the data collected from the experiment. You only need to include one image.

DO NOT use the table from the Excel spreadsheet, or the summary chart for the Excel spreadsheet. You need to come up with your own way of representing the data graphically. Again, DO NOT use the Excel spreadsheet, or cut and paste those columns into your paper.

Discussion:

37. Re-state expected findings.

38. Compare actual results to expected results.

39. Explain unexpected/expected results by linking this to general biological principles.

40. Evaluate the hypothesis (Describe what the p value means).
Scientists do not PROVE anything in lab reports. Instead the data supports or fails to support hypothesis.

41. Describe future experiments that could further the research on this topic.

42. State real world applications of the information.
