In the light of all the debates about the need for more creativity in companies we should start by making a potential business case for it. What specific conditions in the business environment would you say that justify investments in employees’ creativity on the part of companies?

Three management questions

Write a paragraph for each question:

1. In the light of all the debates about the need for more creativity in companies we should start by making a potential business case for it. What specific conditions in the business environment would you say that justify investments in employees’ creativity on the part of companies? As usual, please focus just on one.

2. You have been discussing different strategies that Pixar uses in order to foster creativity: Empower your people; Create a peer culture; Free up communication; Craft a learning environment. discuss in some detail the behaviors that each principle would trigger in case they’re implemented in a company. Do you actually use any of them with your teams? Why (or why not)?

3. In her article “If managers thought like designers”, Jeanne Liedtka, one of the leading academics in the topic, takes a provocative view of the current drawbacks in managerial functions that may be preventing innovation and business development.

Explain briefly what the theme of the game is. What does the game mean? What is it about? Explain what it intends to say, through the experience it creates. Explain briefly what elements of the game you will analyze and offer as evidence.

Gaming firewatch

Summary: Through the game Firewatch, define and explain the elements of a video game that the developers use to create meaning (that is, to get across ideas, values, critics, etc). Explain what the game means, i.e., its themes, its message, its central ideas.

Specifics:

Part 1. Play

Play Firewatch. If you have technical problems, contact me (or google them–there are a lot of good answers out there).

Part II: Write an analysis of the game, in the following structure:

1. Introduction.

Explain briefly what the theme of the game is. What does the game mean? What is it about? Explain what it intends to say (its central ideas or critical commentaries), through the experience it creates. This is your thesis.

Explain briefly what elements of the game you will analyze and offer as evidence.

2. Analysis

Analyze the different aspects of the game and explain how they contribute to creating the meaning (the theme you have singled out in the introduction) of the game. Some of the aspects of the game you can/should analyze are:

  • Character
  • Plot
  • World (the setting, both the physical setting and the kind of world it is (deterministic, bleak, happy, etc).
  • Formal elements (such as color, sounds, etc).
  • Mechanics (what the player does, the choices the player can make, what the player does to win/complete the game)

Your analysis of each of these elements should be focused on proving your thesis. In other words, your analysis of all these elements should focus on explaining to the reader the ways in which each element reinforces or proves that the game means what you say it does. Below is a sample introduction to give you an idea of how to proceed:

3. Conclusion

In this part, write your conclusions. Talk about what the game means: what is/are its central ideas, what message does it send, what is the emotional/conceptual/ideological content of the experience it tries to create? What do the players learn from it, or take away from it? This part should be at least 1 page long

Write a critical analysis and discussion of the selected case, applying relevant theories and demonstrating sound understanding of related concepts in the identification and presentation of the outline of a strategic response to the issue/issues.

Education

Critical analysis and discussion of the selected case, applying relevant theories and demonstrating sound understanding of related concepts in the identification and presentation of the outline of a strategic response to the issue/issues.

Details of paper requirements:

Choose a case relate to the education, not choose a big topic, need a specific case.

You will need to have a case report something like a case report in the essay to tell the reader what is your case?what’s your case issue? What is the scale of your case?why are you choosing this case? Why this is very important? You need to kind of scale it up what is called setting the scene.

When you use mode(better to use more than one)to do your analysis, try to deep, not just represent superficial.

You need to know where you are to identify your position is very important.

VALUATION OF ASSETS FOR JOSEPH WALLER

1. Apply and evaluate the use and adequacy of valuation methodologies to solve complex valuation problems within the appropriate legal and professional frameworks.

2. Synthesise knowledge of valuation techniques and other land and property related knowledge in arriving at an opinion of value.

3. Collate, evaluate and utilise market data in the preparation of valuation figures.

Task outline:

Your firm has been instructed by your client Joseph Waller to provide an opinion of the market value of property in his ownership as at 1st March 2022. The valuation is required for the purposes of future secured lending.

The details of the property assets are set out in this brief below.

Given that you have not inspected the assets listed nor had an opportunity of speaking with the owners of the property you may need to make assumptions in putting together the valuations. It is important that you state what those assumptions are.

You will also see that you have not been instructed as to the location of the properties listed. You are asked to assume that the property is located in whatever part of the country you either work or live in. This should clearly be stated somewhere in your submission.

You are not required to report your valuation figures within a formal valuation report but you are to assume that you are creating the valuation figures and supporting notes that will be retained on your file in the event that you should ever be required to defend your valuation.

Your file note should clearly set out your valuation approach, methodology, evidence and analysis to produce valuation figures that are completely supported by your workings.

Your file note should also summarise what you consider to be the main points/issues or assumptions that you would consider necessary to bring to your client’s attention in any valuation report relating to the assets that you are valuing.

Demonstrate how you would test out a small scale service improvement applying appropriate theoretical and service models of change such as the Plan Do Study Act (PDSA) cycles.

Introducing a tool that improves communication between health care professionals, eg SBAR

The summative assessment for this module is a 4000 word essay based on a potential clinical service improvement initiative. No student should be introducing an actual service improvement in their clinical area.

The main focus of this assignment is the service improvement process which will help students to  become aware of the processes involved with improving practice and the relevant evidence that informs this process. The service improvement should be focused on improving the patient’s experience of care and must be managed in accordance with current improvement methodology. Students would be expected to explain the rationale for the required improvement and describe the evidence base underpinning this change.

Students would be expected to demonstrate how they would test out a small scale service improvement applying appropriate theoretical and service models of change such as the Plan Do Study Act (PDSA) cycles.

Provide a synthesis and critical appraisal of your studies that you are including in the literature review. Use the Moule (2018) tool to critically appraise your studies.

Literature Review

1. You need to briefly set the scene by identifying the area of practice you are exploring. This will flow from the argument you have presented in your background/rationale section above. You will need to articulate a clear research question for your literature review.

2. You need to explain how you have searched and retrieved published evidence. You will document your search strategy ,e.g. using BNI,EBSCO,PROQUEST,MEDLINE(including search terms, Boolean operators and databases), your inclusion and exclusion criteria, and how you have arrived at the 8-10 studies you have selected to review.

3. You will provide a synthesis and critical appraisal of your 8-10 studies that you are including in the literature review. You will use the Moule (2018) tool to critically appraise your studies. Your critical appraisal must include consideration of ethical principles and best practice. It is important that you apply your writing about ethics to the studies you have reviewed.
