Analyze the quote  and give reasons. What are the unique features of ancient Egypt geography? Why it is essential to sustain life in Egypt? (Mesoptamia is not said as agift of the Tigris and Euphrates) How did geography affect Ancient Egyptian culture?

 How did the pyramids show the strength and power of Egyptian pharaohs?

The construction of the pyramids is an amazing feat of technology. Yet no-one knows for sure how they were built. The ancient Egyptians had only simple tools made of stone, wood and bronze. They had no cranes, computers, rock cutters or heavy earth-moving equipment.

The pyramids were more than a massive tomb, symbol of the immortality of the Pharaoh. They also portray and symbolize the might and power of the pharaohs, as well as Egyptian well-structured economy

What do you think of Hammurabi’s laws? Do they seem fair? Were they just or harsh punishments? Does our society have harsh punishments today? Have we made any progress in four thousand year?

“A Closer Look” section on page 75 of the textbook, there is a conversation about popular misunderstandings of Hindu terms in the West (North America and Europe). Terms such as Karma, Mantra, Guru, and Avatar have religious meanings in Hinduism, but have acquired secular meanings in the West. One term missing from this conversation is Yoga. Explore if there is a difference between the Hindu understanding of Yoga and the Western practice of Yoga.
